Ben has brought up a good point, it would be a lot harder and more work to be able to moderate those lobbies and could overall cause some problems. I also feel that it’s not necessary, I get what you’re trying to say while making this suggestion, but I think you should just create a party with your friends. -1
I see what you’re saying about moderation, but overall you’re in a private lobby with only your friends, if they feel uncomfortable with a player hacking, or breaking the rules in their own private lobby, they can for surely report them as do other players.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t necessarily see a lot of moderation going into murder games, and I mean no disrespect when saying that.
It’s definitely not a necessary feature, as many other things implemented were not. Elite+ is lacking perks, and this could be another one.
Only saying no for reasons when this was suggested before:
It would be much harder to moderate, and therefore easier for people to hack in these private lobbies.
Definitely a good point, PZ players can report others, I know that this private lobby is more for friends, but a lot of players are very passionate about the rules.
A lot of the larger networks are much less moderated, and end up having a lot more hackers. Having private lobbies like this, as Ben said, would likely increase the amount of hackers.
Back to your point of the anti-cheat, PZ does not currently have an anti-cheat (however SARAH is in the works!), but even so, anti cheats don't catch everything. Also, with the small playerbase PZ has, many players would be waiting a while to play a game of murder if all of the people who used to play in their games (those who play with friends) would go to private lobbies. This may deter players from playing murder.
What Kate means by not necessary is that there is an easy alternative- not like commands like /marry. As she said, you can easily create a party with friends and go to an empty murder game, sure, more people may join, but it doesn't really ruin the gameplay.
Other networks also have anti-cheat codes and /report when it comes to hacking.
Not saying this needs to be implemented right this second, if it helps, this can definitely wait for “SARAH”.
I’m also questioning, hacks that’s can be used on the game Murder are most likely just x-ray. I doubt an anti-cheat would detect that. So when it comes to “moderating” are you talking about the game chat?
I see your point when it comes to players being in private lobbies, as I previously stated, this perk can only be available to Elite+, as others may join they can only create that private lobby. Majority of E+ play Creative (and that’s also where the majority of moderation goes) as that’s where their perks are as well. I play Murder frequently, but I could be wrong, a lot of players are in singles when it comes to Murder.
It’s not necessary, but I think it’d be a fun feature to implement, the alternative is definitely an option, but the entire point of this thread is not having other players join, as it does ruin the gameplay of having it just your friends in my own opinion.
I see a major problem with how we would moderate these. I suppose it would be nice for Elite+ to have another perk due to them being heavily under-perked as it is, but with our playbase being small, I don't think this is currently a good option. SARAH might help push this forward in the future, but as of now, we aren't ready.
I agree with it, this does not need to be a feature implemented this second, though it’d be lovely to see in the future.
