The Tidal Awakening happens every 2000 years and is unlike anyone has seen before. You may be confused, What is the Tidal awakening? Well, the Tidal Awakening is when the Sea rises over all the land, destroying everything in it's path. It could happen at any moment and there is no way to track when or where it will hit first. Countless efforts have been made for buildings and under ground shelters to be made proof of the Tide and yet none have succeeded. Either way the structure collapses, leaks or simply is drowned. So, all you can be is prepared. Houses and buildings are stored with life jackets, torches, whistle, food, drink and whatever you would need to survive and yet, it still seems to not be enough.
Some people view the Tidal Awakening as a fresh start, a way to encounter new materials, a start of different buildings and view point. Though others see it as a slaughtering of all man and animal kind have created.
A way of the world getting back at us.

The waves swayed by the sea side, the sound of the ocean and really annoying seagulls echoing across the bay. Re Ames sat on the edge of the peer, looking out into the ocean as citizens of the town passed by the typically abandoned peer. Footsteps clouded Re's hearing as a familiar body stopped and sat beside her own, taking her hand. Ita, Re's girlfriend, was sitting smiling at Re as she snapped out of her day dreaming, "Morning~" Ita said cheerfully as she chuckled at Re's loss of mind track. Blushing, Re scoffed, drawing her eyes away from Ita and looking back out into the sea, "Sneaking up on me like that- psh well if I had the right mind I would-" Re mumbled on as Ita sat having a laugh attack, "Not happy to see me then, eh?" Ita proclaimed, standing up, "Well that's fine, I'll just dander off, not like I wanted to ask you to come swimming in the bay with me or anything, no no-" Re stood up, walking slowly after Ita, "I'm not busy." Re said sarcastically, grabbing Ita's hand as they walked down to the peaceful bay.

The morning grew clear as the residents of the home awoke. Alex woke up, missing his alarm clock once again as he tiredly got ready to head out with his boyfriend, Shawn. Heading down stairs to where his twin sisters and Mum were sitting in the kitchen, eating breakfast. Seeing Alex walk into the kitchen his Mum gestured to his breakfast, grabbing her and the twins' plates to go wash up. After she had finished she grabbed her bag and coat, kissed each of the children on the forehead and left for work. Alex sighed and ate his breakfast, talking with his sisters, "You going to go see your boyyyfrrrieeendd~?" They both said in unison, making Alex blush and become flustered, "Shut up you two-" He said, putting his plate in the dishwasher, "Come on your going to be late for your friend's Birthday party." They left, Alex walking them a few streets from their own house to their friends, making sure they got there safely before leaving to meet up with Shawn by the beach. Alex sighed as he expected it was going to be a long summer.
…
The waves were big as surfers and swimmers made use of them for their summer enjoyment. Shaelyn rose to the surface taking a deep breath as she swam in the ocean near the crowded beach. She walked up to the sand, wrapping a towel around herself and grabbing her belongings before leaving the beach. Shaelyn sighed, hating summer only because she never got a quiet swim in the mornings. She arrived at the hill, entering the house standing on top of it and going up to her room where she got dressed ready for working at the shop. One she is dressed she heads down the creaky steps and back to the shoreline where the small, old shop sat busier than ever. So, the stress begins. Rush hour leads to a long line of vacationers searching for water and the long out of stock ice-creams. After the sun sets the store closes, Shaelyn and its workers exhausted from the hours of serving. Needing a way of escape, Shae heads down to the beach.

Remi walked through the woods, coming to an opening where a rather large cabin sat. She entered the cabin, her adoptive father sitting in the kitchen, "Morning," she said, setting her bag down onto the floor as she hugged him. He smiled, "Fancy going down to the beach today?" Remi smiled, "Yes! Lemme just get changed and we should go nowwwww!" she dragged on, running into her room. Around half an hour later they were on their way through the forest to the private beach on the coast. By the time they arrived it was the afternoon and the sun was shining from above them. They laid a beach towel down on the sand as they both ran into the freezing cold sea. Remi cried as she entered the water, the coldness running up their body. Her dad laughed at the sight of Remi freezing to death as he went deeper. They stay at the beach until night falls.

Raes scouted the kitchen, gathering the ingredients she needed to make the perfect chocolate cake. After getting the utensils out she began, pouring the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder and other dry ingredients in before mixing in the Milk, eggs and flavouring. The electric mixer buzzed through the empty house. Raes was home alone, her Mum being at work as usual. So, Raes took it to herself to entertain herself by doing what she loves, baking. After she had finished making the batter she pouring it into the tin and placed it in the pre-heated oven. Raes then grabbed her coat and bag and headed out, planning on going down to the beach to draw the nature surrounding the small cove that lay near the coast. After walking for 20 minutes she reached the cove, setting down her now sandy coat and sitting on it, beginning to draw the wonders of nature.

The library lay quiet, abandoned except for the few people doing their late requested homework. Stellan flicked through the pages, trying to find out as much information as possible. The myths of the 'Tidal Awakening' had him very interested in mythology and the mystery behind it. Whilst researching more into the events of the 'Tidal Awakening' and thinking more and more about how is was even possible he had grown apart from his friends who he never hung out with anymore. Stellan rented out the book from the library, stuffing it into his bag before heading down the the beach ,where evidence was found of the Tidal Awakening thousands of years ago, to take some pictures and look around a bit more. After arriving he set his stuff down and began exploring the coves and beach surrounding the small town.

The house lay amongst others, the noisiest of them all as the 7 person family was never quiet. Charlotte rushed around the kitchen, making breakfast for her 4 younger siblings. Her parents were nowhere to be seen, as per usual. Once she had finished the 5 cereal balls she set the on the table, sighing as she sat down. Laid on the table was her ongoing dress task that she was sewing up for her little sister. She began sewing but as soon as she got 2 stitches in her siblings were finished their breakfast and bugging her to walk them to their individual activities for the day. So, she got up and grabbed her coat, walking around 6 blocks before all 4 of her siblings were off with their friends. Charlotte sighed, having her dress and portable sewing kit with her she walked down to the beach, collecting a few pretty shells and settling down on the sand.

Mason woke to Noah's alarm clock ringing through the walls from the other room. He groaned falling off his bed before getting up. He trudged into the kitchen when Noah sat eating breakfast. Mason scoffed, going over and putting 2 pieces of bread in the toaster. He buttered it once the toaster popped, sitting down beside Noah. After 10 minutes of silence Mason got up and grabbed his coat and bag, " I'm going out. " he said harshly, leaving the apartment. Mason stuffed his hands into his pockets, walking away from the apartment complex. He didn't quite know where he was going but he just wanted away. Mason reached the Beach, only getting into one fight on the way, that's a record. He walked along the beach, soon reaching an old peer as the waves crashed against the pillars. Mason sat on the dry sand, yawning as he looked around at the plants growing around the peer. He lay back on the sand, closing his eyes.

Car's rushed by the apartment complex as the sun rose over the crowded buildings. Colleen woke to the sound of a police sirens outside her apartment. She groaned, practically rolling out of bed and thumping into the small, damp kitchen. Colleen grabbed the cereal box and began looking for a bowl, she then found a bowl in the sink, it was basically clean she thought. Pouring the cereal and then grabbing the milk and a spoon she went and sat down, eating. Her phone buzzed, receiving a text from her friend, 'Meet at beach, party time' she read, sighing and setting the bowl in the sink. Colleen walked back into her room, getting changed and heading out. She walked along the small streets, eventually making her way to the beach. Colleen saw her friends holding bottles of *Insert adult drink here* and walked over sitting beside them. Once they had had more of *Insert Adult Drink Here* they ended up swimming in the freezing cold sea even though Colleen can't swim, well done there people.

The large mansion lay on a hill in a rich neighbourhood. The home lay quiet as the workers within it got everything ready for the day. Hera lay spread out on her large bed, snoring slightly until her alarm went off. Hera groaned, frantically slamming her hand on the bedside table to stop the annoying continuous noise. Once the alarm went off she sat up, groaning once again, "eViE" she shouted tiredly before a young woman rushed in with a tray of food. Hera took the tray, beginning to eat, "What's on the schedule today, Evie?" she said, stuffing her mouth. Evie took out a tablet, scolling down the list before replying, "A lot." Hera groaned oNcE again before coming to a decision, "Cancel it all, I'm going to the beach. " Hera got up, walking into her closet and beginning to pick out an outfit. 3 hours later she was finally ready, and headed out with Evie by her side.

The waves crashed against the old peer. Re and Ita walking along the beach, now hesitating to jump in. Re laughed, throwing off her shoes, " Well Re, It won't be my fault if you freeze to death. " Ita groaned, crossing her arms as Re jumped into the waves, " You are really an idiot, Re. " Ita continued, shaking her head. Re laughed, " Come on you love meee. " Ita smiled, groaning and taking her shoes off. Before long they were both in the water, screeching at how cold it was. Shaking crowded their thoughts as they felt vibration of the land through the water, Re grabbed Ita's hand the waves getting stronger as the earth shook. Buildings began to rumble and sounds of crashing were heard in the distance. Ita screamed over the noise, " Re what's going on?! " Re had no clue either, " An Earthquake?! I don't know Ita just stay close and stay above water. Though, before much more could be said the shaking had stopped but something else was coming their way, before they could react a large tsunami was tumbling over them. Re heard Ita screaming, Still holding onto each other's hands as they were sent plummeting into the peer. Everything went dark.

Alex walked along the beach, looking for the familiar face among the crowd of people packing up their beach stuff. Before long he spotted Shawn, smiling as he ran to him. Alex hugged Shawn, together beginning to walk down the now deserted beach that lay quiet among the city. They sat down on the dry sand, the waves seemingly uncontrollable whilst usually calm at this time. Alex questioned this, though his worries were soon answered. Shaking covered the land, bangs and crashes already being heard from the city above them, Alex went to take Shawn's hand as then both lay on the sand, covering their heads. The shaking lasted for 5 minutes before stopping, though the dangers were not over. Before Alex could lift his head he was surrounded by water, pushing the air out of his lungs as the massive tsunami covered the small beach. Alex regained his breath, frantically searching around for Shawn as the water lifted higher and he was pushed further into the ocean which seemed to be taking over the city in which Alex once lived. Alex laid his eyes upon Shawn's seemingly lifeless body as he was sent forcefully smashing his head off of a truck floating in the ocean with the rest of the city's debris. 'The Tidal Awakening' Alex thought as he drifted from consciousness.

Shaelyn sighed, kicking the sand slightly as she walked, it flying through the air with the wind. She looked out into the ocean, the waves acting unusually violent against the rocks surrounding the beach. The sky was getting darker by the minute and would soon be too dark to swim, Shaelyn thought, though she shrugged, pulled off her top and shoes and ran into the water. The silence under the water felt calming, though as she reached the sea floor the vibration, that she didn't think was normal, worried her. Shae pushed off the floor to the shore, brushing the water out her eyes as she reached the shore. The normally quiet night had now turned to chaos as crashing and bangs were echoing from the city before her. She rested her eyes on the hill where the house that once stood upon it was now collapsing, then to the small shop that was covered in debris as the shaking stopped. As Shae hurried to get out of the sea she head a large wave, looking behind her she saw a tsunami coming for the town. Shae screamed covering her head as it swept her up into the sea where debris from, places it already hit, knocked her out.

Remi pushed the freezing cold water at her dad, who jumped sending it at her instead. Remi screeched, ducking and going under the water. She swims out into the sea more, pushing up from the sea floor to the surface and laughing. Though, her adoptive father was not there. She looked around confused, then feeling the sudden vibration that felt through the ground and into the sea. Remi frantically tried to swim back to shore, trying to find her dad. The shaking had stopped but that was now the least of her worries, she looked around as a tsunami came their way, crashing over her and sweeping her up. She caught a glimpse of her dad, though before she could shout for him and making her way to him he had been sent flying into the rocks. Remi screamed trying to fight against the current pushing her further into sea. She stopped trying, getting wounds from debris and eventually crashing into something large that knocked her out cold, unable to fight anymore she gave in and was swept away with the water.

Wind pushes Raes pages everywhere, she groaned as they flew away then jumping up and running after them. She ran to the edge of the sand though the pages flew off over the sea. Raes sighed, being scared of the water didn’t help when her hard work went flying off over the ocean. She sat down on the sand under the cove again, grabbing the pages she did manage to keep. Raes continued drawing, but before long the ground below her started shaking uncontrollably. She covered her head as rocks fell down from the roof of the cove, as the shaking stopped she uncovered her head. Bad idea, as soon as she did she took in the sight of the tsunami coming towards land. Raes began to run, trying to get out of the cove before the tsunami hit. Unsuccessful, the ginormous wave hit, sending Remi flying into the rocks. She screamed, holding her head as she was knocked out cold. Her drawings floated as the sea level rose at a fast rate, causing Raes unconscious body to be sent further out into the ocean.

Stellan collasped on the sand, the sun bright as ever as he pants from the heat. Taken back from the sudden heat wave on the coast he sat up, confused. Global warming, he first thought, though he had no idea global warming could cause such a distinctive change. Stellan sat there thinking, zoned out. Though, soon he was forced to exit his day dreaming when the ground beneath him started shaking violently. Stellan stood up, taking his ground even though it would of most likely be better to stay sitting, but we won't mention that. After long the shaking stopped, allowing Stellan to catch his breath. Though that luxury was cut short as the terrors continued, a large wave rushed towards him. A tsunami, Stellan thought, grabbing onto a rock as if it was going to magically save him. Of course, this was not the case and as the wave came over him he was swept away into the sea, passing out from a mix of shock and debris banging against his helpless body. Some use that rock did.

Charlotte sat on the sand, bringing the needle through the fabric one stitch at a time. The fabrics lay beside her as she continued sewing the dress together. Before long shaking occurred, vibrating through the ground. Charlotte gasped, stabbing her finger with the needle by accident as she was taken aback by the sudden vibration causing the earth to shake. She frantically looked around as rocks fell, before looking out to the sea. Charlotte was now sitting in the water, the tide having come in at least 4 feet. She jumped to her feet, gabbing the dress and trying to run back to the dry land. Eventually the shaking stopped and she stood there in the water, glancing around. Charlotte then turned around, screaming at a massive wave collapsed over her. She frantically pushed against the water but gave up, losing all her breath and falling unconscious.

The calm waves made Mason feel relaxed and at ease, he kept his eyes closed, listening to the sea. This relaxation was nice for Mason and he savoured every moment. However that luxury was broken, vibration seeping through the ground on which Mason lay. He quickly sat up, looking around in confusion. The old peer creaked and tilted slightly, this worried Mason and before long he was jumping to his feet. Mason looked above him, sprinting to the other side of the peer. It collapsed just at Mason got out, the waves beginning to crash over it. He panted for air, out of breath from the panic. The shaking stopped abruptly, making everything feel like it was peaceful again. Mason sighed, sitting down on the sand once more because that was a smart move. He'd lay back, looking out to the sea. A silhouette formed and Mason sat up oNcE again, staring out. The silhouette became clear, a Tsunami, rushing towards the land Mason sat on. His eyes widened as the wave crashed over him, he didn’t bother fighting as he was immediately knocked out but hitting one of the Peers still standing pillars.

The waves pushed against the rocks as people rushed out of the freezing cold water. Colleen was left stranded in the water, being pushed out to sea because she couldn't swim. She fought against the waves and stared at her so called 'friends' who stood on the beach not bothering to save her. Colleen then watched them freak out as the ground started shaking underneath them. She felt the vibration going through the water as the waves became larger and larger. Soon the image of her 'friends' was lost as she was pushed further out to sea. Colleen shook with fear and coldness, the ocean becoming even more freezing the further she went out. Though of course, that was the least of her worries, she frantically fought to stay up on the surface of the water as she gulped for air. Soon, she turned around to face the horizon of the ocean. What she saw was not the sun set though, nor a boat that could save her. Coming crashing her way was a massive Tsunami. Colleen didn't even get hit by the Tsunami before falling unconscious.

The beach was quiet a seagulls flew over the sea. Hera walked down the walkway, abruptly stopping before it changed to sand and took off her shoes, walking down the ramp. Evie followed her as they walked along the beach, each of them staying silent. The water was presumably freezing and so the beach lay deserted with only the odd passer-by. Hera enjoyed this quietness as it was calm, unlike her normal chaotic life. She peered at Evie who was following behind her, looking at the beach. Silence was soon broken when the waves started becoming more violent and the ground started shaking beneath them. Hera heard Evie scream as she fell down onto to sand. The tide began coming in closer, causing Evie and Hera to be sitting in the water. Hera frantically looked around, trying to get herself and Evie to stand up. Then, the shaking stopped. She sighed, smiling, "That wasn't so bad, Probably just a small little earthquake" Hera said, getting up and the continuing to pull Evie up as well. Although, of course that was wrong. Before either of them could say another word a massive wave crashed over them, sending Evie flying into the rocks and Hera out to sea. Hero screamed for Evie, before being knocked out by debris.

…
…
So, The Tidal Awakening has begun. Caught by surprise people are fighting for their lives as large earthquakes and tsunamis hit countries across the globe and the tide begins to rise. Though by a chance encounter 11 souls lay in a mountain creak cave, barely holding onto the strings of life. Honestly though it's not as bad as it sounds, they will live I hope, but it's my job as narrator to make it sound deadly and cool.
The cave lay still, damp and dark as 11 souls lay on the cold stone ground. Echoes of lungs gasping for air, as the bodies began to awake, beamed through the cave. By now it was getting dark and though as high as they were the water was getting closer and closer to their refuge by the second. The mountain they lay in was tall and large though as tall as it may be the water will not stop rising. One by one the souls would wake and find that though everything seemed normal just hours before, their lives were crumbling beneath them.
Many would say that a volcano eruption or any other natural disaster then water would be worse, I mean as long as you can swim is plain old water rising really such a hassle? Though that may be true but if you didn't die from the large earthquakes or deadly tsunamis that hit before the Tidal Awakening even began you still stood the chance of the other effects killing you. Whether it be loss of energy from not being able to sleep, no food, no clean water, wounds from the water pushing you into rocks etc, it would be very hard to survive. Overall unlike some other natural disasters that may kill you immediately or let you survive the Tidal Awakening would put you out slowly and was really just a waiting game.
But hey, we got to credit the 11 people who I am narrating right? I have faith in them at least- as they begin to wake up the shock will hit them the hardest. Though if they can survive the shock and not tearing each other to pieces I'm sure everything else will be a piece of cake. I mean, what could happen?
