Hello everyone, thanks for clicking on this thread!

This thread was created due to the numerous complaints in regards to punishments/rules being too strict. Typically, these threads didn’t state why the rule/punishment was invalid nor how it could be changed; hence why this thread was created, to allow you all to eleborte on rule/punishment changes.

Before you submit your feedback, please read the following. Additionally, here is a genuine suggestion for a rule change that was implemented due to the valid point that was made: this is the kind of thing we are looking for.

Format:
What rule/punishment you believe is too strict:
Why you believe it is too strict:
How to improve this:

——————————

For example (these are not a real examples and are only being used for informative purposes):

-What [rule] you believe is too strict: That you are punished for saying ‘hello’, regardless of the context.
-Why you believe it is too strict: ‘hello’ is not considered inappropriate language in most areas and can be used in different context. -How to improve this: Make it so that saying ‘hello’ is not punishable.

-What [punishment] you believe is too strict: That you are permanently banned for saying ‘hi’, regardless of the context.
-Why you believe it is too strict: ‘hi’ is not considered inappropriate language in most areas and can be used in different context. -How to improve this: Make it so that saying ‘hi’ only leads to a permanent mute.

Conclusion:
Thank-you for reading and considering this thread. Please leave your format below, if it is considered valid then it is more than likely that the change will be implemented. Also, please like any feedback you agree with: it really helps us get the general idea of what needs to be changed.

Psst... I apologies for the appearance of this thread, it was created on mobile so please forgive the ugliness of it. :’)

What rule/punishment you believe is too strict: Possession of afk pools

Why you believe it is too strict: The only reason this rule was put into place (I believe) was because the creative server on the network was full. With the downfall of the player count on the network as a whole, I don’t see why AFK pools would be an issue. It doesn’t affect anybody’s entry to the creative server as it did quite a while ago.

How to improve this: remove it

What rule/punishment do you believe is too strict: Certain cuss words eg. the word that means pee, and the word similar to crap the begins with an s.
Why you believe it is too strict: I understand there are younger players on the network, and party zone is family friendly. However the two words I suggested are too many people, barely rude/inappropriate. I think allowing these words would be a good way to cater to everyone. Allowing older users to say certain words and not feel as though the server is too babyish, but it's not so inappropriate that younger players will feel offended. If you go buy definitions of these words, they're not rude, as they literally mean to pee and poo, it's just for some people a more casual way to say it. It's also used a lot with older players as a way to say "oops" "oh no" etc and makes the conversation more relatable/casual. Unlike other swear words where the definitions are rude/offensive.
(This suggestion has been said on discord but I think it should be a server wide rule)
How to improve this: Allow words in certain context. Obviously if you're using the word to insult someone, you'd get warned. But you can use any word to insult someone, given context and so the fact that these words are able to insult someone, shouldn't stop them being allowed. It should come under the common sense rule.

The word “piss” is now allowed, due to recent changes.

Honestly don't feel as if this is a good idea because people can use AFK pools to grind hours on creative.

Grinding hours doesn’t effect gameplay or harm players. Does it matter in the long run? Not really.
In the scenario of players apply for helper, and it’s found they’re grinding hours using that method, we will realize this and it will be handled without resulting in a direct server punishment. Plus, if they did get staff and were found using them still, they would certainly be dealt with.

I do agree that some words should be allowed depending on context. However, one of the words you've mentioned here will definitely not be allowed as it is a word considered vulgar and profane.

I haven't mentioned a word that I've ever heard to be considered vulgar or profane. By definition on the oxford dictionary, the two words I mentioned aren't inappropriate, it's just our society saying it is when it really isn't.

One of the reasons that AFK pools are against the rules because it doesn’t allow the players that want to in Creative to get in. Creative has a limit to 200 non ranked players (I think, I maybe wrong) then there’s an extra 50 limit for ranked players (again I maybe wrong with the numbers). If a lot of people in Creative are in AFK pools, a lot of ranked or nonranked players can’t get in. I know our player count isnt as high as it usually is currently, but we can’t be changing rules over over when the player count goes up or down. The player count is much more high in the summer and a bit on the weekends. I believe it would be too much work having to keep changing the rule because the player count changes. I think this rule should stay. Also, I hope what I say makes sense.

I doubt the server can even reach 150, at least raise the limit to like 1 hour AFK

Well- the rule was added based on PartyZone’s player count at one point for one.

I’ve been active this past summer- I also join sometimes on the weekends, and I’ve noticed the player count. The entire network’s player count as a whole does not equal creative’s maximum player count.

Not many players = open slots.

Without a high player count, the reason this rule was implemented in the first place, it’s now invalid.

The fact it’s a punishable offense is absurd in my opinion.

Honestly don't feel as if this is a good idea because people can use AFK pools to grind hours on creative.

I believe the first reasoning is invalid, but I can see how this can be an issue in the case of player’s applying for staff.

Grinding hours doesn’t effect gameplay or harm players. Does it matter in the long run? Not really.

Agreed.
Seems like a solution in my opinion.

shh, don't say that word it's against the rules!
(im kidding im sorry)

What rule/punishment you believe is too strict: So what I find too strict... I dont know if it's been changed or not since it used to happen ages ago. Do correct me if this stops, but getting warned/punished for something you did more than two months ago? This is on the forums,
Why you believe it is too strict: Okay, feel free to call me biased, but last year I always got punished for things I did in 2015-2016 which is kinda dumb, especially since some things were MINOR things that barely affected anyone? Like regardless of if it's against the rules or not, I feel it's kinda wrong to bring up the past, and I actually got warned for something when I already got warned for it?
How to improve this: Make a limit on the forums for how old a post has to be to be punishable. I think making it that if a post has been up for 2 months, then any rules broken cannot be punished for and the staff must take down the post without warning. I know it sounds dumb, and I know the staff are observant THESE DAYS so we won't even need this, but I think that if a post older than two months is breaking a rule, you take it down rather than punishing a user for a stupid decision they made like months ago.

Again, DO LET ME KNOW if staff stopped punishing for ridiculous things, but mood.
