experiencing creative first hand, if you don't reply to their msgs they just spam it in public chat, so that would be something that would have to be dealt with even if messages are disabled.
Yes but if multiple people asked in global chat I could address everyone in one message instead of multiple individual messages to separate people. I try to answer everyone's messages as some people could become offended and feel as if they are being ignored. I could go on, but that's basically the theme of it.
I mean I think it's better to get the message and then deal with it when you can, rather than not getting the message at all and never dealing with it.
It doesn't take very long to deal with situations in most cases, maybe 7-10 minutes
tops. That is, if I don't have to stop to explain to various players that I'm working on something - again, in multiple different messages to individual people. Referring to what I just said earlier, it is much easier to send just one message to
everyone that I'm busy. I do agree with your statement, but also imagine having around 4-6 different players messaging you about this user breaking this rule, or this user can't get into this game, or this user wants more information about this system. It's easy to start forgetting details as I work on the current issue.
you're not always in the same lobby so doesn't always work :/
In lobby, the chats are merged so what you send in global chat will be seen by everyone regardless of which lobby they are in. If there are no staff members in the lobbies, there will most likely be one in Creative. You can refer to
this for more information. Again, please remember that user reports are constantly being checked by staff! Grab some evidence (screenshots or videos) and fill out a simple report. That's really half of the situation already dealt with
I do understand where you're coming from, but you have to remember that staff members are people and not robots. We both come from two different perspectives so in order for us to work together we'd both have to understand each other and how we see the situations. I used to be in your position of needing a staff member, so I do understand how it could sometimes be difficult. However, also experiencing being the mod in a situation obviously changed my views a bit. I do agree with you and I believe staff should have their messages enabled for the most part, but again we are human and it can become easy for us to get overloaded with issues or unrelated tasks. There's around 400 players and only around 30 moderation staff members in total, but obviously we aren't all online at the same time. We can't crank out punishments and there is a process for everything we do. We do try our best to get to everything, and we usually do, but sometimes you guys have to help us out a bit!
