/marry Lei- I mean yes I totally agree with this! I think it'd be a fun little thing for role plays and just creative in general!

Honestly I have only had negative views on how systems like these being implemented, however from the start of this thread I've known this community can be different and more friendly than other servers I have seen with similar mechanics. So might as well right? I mean worst comes to worse if we get a couple of break outs of drama, staff could act accordingly, and if it's many large drama outbursts, it could just be removed, it shouldn't be such a huge integration that it would take a week to remove, it should literally take a few minutes tops unless the server or operator is having issues.

tldr; There really shouldn't be any issues with this system based on how it is presented, along with Gaurav's planned editions, and if there is issues with it, staff could handle accordingly based on the severity.

Ok! So, I was just in Creative and so many people were talking about marrying people. So, this got me into this completely useless idea that is a bit fun though too!

The /marry Commands!
First: /marry
  • This sends a request to a user asking them to marry you!
  • Use is: /marry [username]
How do you accept or decline the /marry?
  • When someone sends a marriage request, in chat there will be a little thingy in chat sort of like a tpa request which two choices [I Do] and [I Don't]
  • If you accept, it will say in chat for only you and your husband/wife to see: Congratulations! You've been married. Remember to set your /marry ship
  • If you decline, a message will be sent to the person who sent the request saying "my heart belongs to someone else" or something funny like that.
If you don't want to stay married what do you do?
  • Use: /divorce [username]
  • A message would be sent to the husband/wife once they log on that there has been a divorce
Why would we use this command?
  • It's just for fun!
  • We would use to to have fun with our friends
  • And we all know that @Unstitched is the master of unneeded things for the servers
What's /marriage ship?
  • You do /marriage ship once you and your husband/wife have come up with a ship name
  • This will be shown in /marriage information
  • Just like a rp name it will say: "Your marriage ship has been set to [name]"
Any extra features we might add?
  • /marriage adopt [user]
  • This would allow users to adopt another user so they have children!
  • There would be a /adopt accept command that the user would do to make sure they aren't randomly adopted
  • Maybe /marriage information
  • /marriage information would show all the recent marriages that have occured as well as showing the users and their ship name
How to we prevent this from getting spammed?
  • If someone sends a request to someone that is married, they will get a message in chat saying "this person is already married"
  • Another way is to make it so that once you marry someone, you need to wait 10 - 15 minutes to get a divorce and at least 1 hour before you can marry again
So! That's it for my suggestion for now. I mean it's really early in the morning so I'm not 100% sure that this is what I was thinking. But if it isn't I'll do it when I wake up again.

Thanks to the people in creative that helped me come up with this :)

I don't think is a bad idea, but at the same times I think it would bring fight with people ( example: people fight to who should marry one). And there are already ''fights'' of a person with another person and the .marry thing would bring more of them ( this is what I think..) it would be a great idea but for me is a no

I feel like the whole marriage command is a good example of "if you don't like it, don't use it". Similarly to RPs, the only outside effects of marriages would be "marriage advertisements" which shouldn't be nearly as bad as RP advertisements.

"Mocking marriage" is just a kinda lame argument against this. Causing drama is the only good argument against this really, but if there's drama "because of the marriage" ... it wasn't really because of the marriage, it was because the two people weren't getting along in the first place

wouldn't this just create drama tho

a lot of the playerbase are young and more easily offended imo, no offense some of y'all are doing great
but things like unfriending someone or "divorcing" someone in a minecraft server is a big ol impact and has caused fights on other servers.
could be fun but the possible negatives don't make it worth it imo
If people get divorced, it's gonna be fallout of drama that had already happened, not the thing that causes drama
