Rejected Make Ghosting Bannable.

I think in murder ghosting should be bannable. I think you should be giving 1 warning , then if they do it again , they should be banned. I am posting this because yesterday someone ghosted me out when I was the murderer . Also it is very annoying for those with little karma and don't get much time being the murderer.

How would staff members be able to tell someone was ghosting? If the player just admits they were ghosting, that wouldn't be enough evidence. If the player says the murderer's name without any way they could have known it, they could have just been guessing.

The only way to catch this (IMO) is have Ghoster A die to the murderer. Then you TP to Ghoster B asap and then they will start walking toward the murderer (Despite the murderer killing their friend from 100 blocks away and through 6 walls). You would Also need to be recording when ghoster a died to get their identity and screen shot the identity list. And of course you need to be dead for all of this to happen

But couldn't you just make MSG's censored?
 
I get it can be annoying, but I believe one warn and an immediate ban is quite unfair. I mean, I get it’s aggravating for players to deal with, but a ban after one warn is still quite extreme. Maybe three warns and a ban? You also have to consider catching ghosters is specifically hard. You’d have to gather a lot of proof before properly confirming suspicions.
 
Ghosting is impossible to tell and even if it was in messages it would take staff time and I mean a lot of it. As well staff could easily say someone was ghosting when infact they noticed something that staff didn't.

This applies for you as well... the murderer doesn't notice the one innocent bystander and then the bys says the murderer's name and the murderer thinks it is ghosting. This could be because of them using f5. You could ban people from saying who the murderer is but people might just say their name randomly so same thing as before. There really is no way to do this unless you want to harm innocent players just because they are good.

Lastly here is a tip... always think there is a ghoster, hacker, or mainly xrayer in the game. By doing this it allows even the best players to be defeated by you. Xray and ghosting just give a small advantage yet in the end they have to pull the trigger.

Reason:
1.Ghosting simply can't be proven without drawbacks. Even with fox's arg
2. Any game is truly winnable because there is always a way. This might be humanly impossible yet just know that every game is possible.
3. The game is just for fun if your not having fun hop on to a different game. If your looking for number one I legit suggest camping in op areas with f5 it is slow but very effective.
4. Ghosting or xray has existed since the beginning of murder not much can change that.

This would be the most effective I have seen so far at catching them yet it still has the question of did they just randomly decide to go back the other way and kill the murderer. In a couple of games full games in murder a bys could turn near a 5 to 10 second window of someone dying and randomly turn back and kill the murderer. This would as well take much staff time as ghosting will be reported a lot. The idea is great and best one so far I have seen yet it does have a small chance to happen or to even know they ghosted. Enough proof yet too close to the edge of unknown and possibilities.

Yea, but most of the time its through a call or message on external sources meaning out of our hands.

We could most likely allow players to send chat reports to staff and the staff can only see the messages going out to the player. Yet I don't know if staff can handle it maybe by doing a system where 2 staff do it one week and the next week 2 different staff do it and it just repeats.

Ghosting is when someone dead is giving info to an Alive player by Either
A: Leaving the Lobby and then doing /msg to their friend to say who the murderer is.
Or B: Using Skype, TeamSpeak, Mumble, Discord, or Texting on their phones to give the person info.

If they receive a mute they can still contact each other through scenario B.

True, This is also why I also said they could just receive a ban maybe for a hour or two. For instance it could look like this.
You have been banned!
Reason: Ghosting (xD)
Limit: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Remember just a suggestion not a fact.

Problem is, how would staff be able to tell that the player was ghosting?

Hm.. true.. if staff are suspicious turn on that thing were you can read peoples messages . Maybe..

People could be speaking in skype and other apps like it, which staff cannot see.

Some possible ways of telling if people are ghosting is if people are teaming. It can be a hint, if the murder is avoiding killing specific people even if they’ve passed them.
If in the next game and a player dies, and someone immediately says who the murder is after they do, despite if they’re across the map. This would require video evidence and a lot of time, which not all staff have. Players can’t always record this either. It’s a very tricky situation.
 
Thanks for your suggestion, at this time, this suggestion will not be implemented. Evidence that is valid is too difficult to obtain, if even possible, to make this work.
