some of you may know that yesterday fairtrade fortnight has started

I made it to raise awareness that there are better and fairer ways to buy everyday products!
for some of you that don't know what fairtrade is
I googled it for you : )​

1. trade between companies in developed countries and producers in developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers.

so yea that's fairtrade

In the UK, 1 in 3 bananas are fairtrade
In Ireland, 1 in 12 bananas that are bought are fairtrade
we can increase this number by buying fairtrade products!

so yea, fairtrade products are a bit more expensive
you must be wondering

the higher cost allows the producers to actually make money
most fairtrade producers are living in very pour circumstances
buying something 50 cents extra isn't going to have a huge impact on your wallet
but not spending that 50 cents extra could make somebody loose their home
please be a conscious shopper and try to buy more fairtrade products!​
