Helper Applications: Why is it 14 and over?

I don't understand why people want to decrease age limit for helper. For me, saying that "I'm mature enough for my age to be a Helper" means that they're not ready for it. If they want it, they'd prove it by behaving mature, helping others, etc. They'd get noticed, and it definitely means something, don't you think so? After all, age limit was once decreased from 14+ to 13+ years. I don't see any reason to decrease it more. It's like saying that I can drive a car right now - of course I can't. I have to wait until I'll be old enough to pass driving exams (or whatever it's called), and this age limit probably has a reason to be such. Same with helper: staff have a reason to keep age limit at 13, otherwise there'd be no age limit.
And as you can see.. it has already created alot of conversation here.
It's 13. It's there because the Staff Members have to make a generalization that most children under the age of 13 will be immature. It is there to protect the server from immature people trying to apply. I'm sorry that this has affected you, as you are probably a very mature person, however it is for the greater good.
I heard you had to be 13 and MATURE. If you believe you are muture carry on being that way. I am no younger than you and I've wanted to be helper for about a year now. However I know I'm not going to get it if I'm underage. It's all about being able to handle being in charge and able to answer people questions. Good luck next time.

I'm sorry I don't agree to this, the fact is because if your 13+ you should be able to apply anyway because you are in the teens and you are more mature as you grow older so I would probably stick with 13.

Technically 13-14 year olds are regarded as tweens, not actual teenagers yet. 15-18 is usually the specified 'teenager' age.
Uh. Not rly... 13 and up is teenager because it has the word teen in it from 13 to 19...
I completely agree with @Absol1991 and @MaySmells. It is unfortunate for those who are under age and would like to apply but over all it is better for the server. If you truly wanted it I think you should be okay with waiting, But I believe that before you apply there should be a message somewhere addressing that you must be 14+ so anyone younger won't spend, like you said, two hours on an application only realizing it was a waste of time.
I would love to be staff but sadly I'm only 10.
I'd say I'm pretty mature for 10, I kind of agree that it should be 13 and over but I also think some younger people who are extremely mature for there age may deserve staff.
This is just my own opinion, please don't start a rant about it.

I'm 12, and I know I am mature for my age. But I also know you can't have 10 year old's running round as moderators banning people because they said "I don't like you" or something. As much as I/other -13 year olds want staff, I think the age limit should be kept at 13 and over, for the best.
I agree on the 14+ process as to I don't understand what if the staff that could promote you to a staff member doesn't like you could you have a wasted application from a staff that just disliked you and denied it? I have another question what if you have quite a bit of warns or history could that be a automatic deny? I am only asking that as I have been warned quite a bit in the past and muted for the stupidest reasons my ban was only 1 due to the fact I was being immature and I admit hat but I got over that now. Can you guys let me know what affects that gives you. And I totally agree on the language that is used in the chat for younger staff.

First off: Staff need to carry rules, help people, Set up events, ect… . For the average 10 year old and under, that can be too much of a responsibility. I think an addition to this rule, is that the Apply-er needs to show his maturity.

It depends on your ban panel and how much you have changed from that time you were warned/muted/banned. Also, the staff members are not biased against the person if they like them or not, its just how they think about the person's application and ban panel/attitude.

This is not going to change and I truly believe there have been over 29393598 threads about this, I think they should become banned @TriSarahTops
