Out your window.
Another simple thread, maybe even more simple. Risk of Rain 2. It's a game. Currently it is in development, but nonetheless it is a great game.

The game is a 3D multiplayer rouge-like that ranges from 1-4 players (maybe more ;)). The goal of this game is to survive as 1 of a selection of preset characters, that have abilities and skills. By using the character's unique abilities the goal is to survive as long as possible by collecting items around each stage with money. Money is gained by killing hostile enemies that get increasingly more difficult to deal with as time goes on. On each stage there will be a shrine/teleporter, that needs to be activaed by the players, and summon a stage boss, which they will need to fight. After a set duration of time, the teleporter will activate and allow the players transfer to the next stage. (currently in the game there is no "endgame", however one could be added)
Touching back to the items, each item give the player a passive effect to their character they are playing and stack upon getting another.

For more information check out https://riskofraingame.com/about the official Risk of Rain website for more details. The details that will be provided will be for the first game however, what Risk of Rain 2 was based off.

The benefits of this game is simple, the minimum players required to play this game will be 1. So no long queue times for players to join in, for them to leave last minute.

I haven't thought into detail about this idea, well I won't share too much, because I won't be able to convey my idea properly. Good luck with understanding this. o/

Thank you so much for your suggestion! Suggestions mean people want to improve the server, and that's always great! So you're suggesting the game be implemented into PartyZone?

I've played Risk of Rain 2 since just after it released in early access, and I honestly don't think it would make the transition very well into Minecraft. The game is so fast-paced and only gets more and more difficult and chaotic, and I just don't think Minecraft could handle that or make it what it needs to be. Another factor is just Minecraft's overall format - Risk of Rain 2 is a three-dimensional game and there's a lot of terrain variability in every stage. With the game being so fast-paced, I don't think that would work very well in Minecraft because of the nature of using blocks for the terrain. Risk of Rain 2's visual style is amazing, too, and I don't think it would translate very well into Minecraft.

Then there's just the development of it all - Risk of Rain 2 is a huge game, even though it's only in early access. There are currently 6 complex characters and dozens of vastly unique items to gather, as well as some stage-specific events and massive bosses. Developing this in Minecraft would take a ridiculous amount of time. Since the game only requires 1 player to start, PartyZone would also have to have even more servers in the network to accommodate the traffic of the game, raising the cost of maintaining the server.

My conclusion, then, is that Risk of Rain 2 would not translate into Minecraft well enough to warrant the massive amount of time and money to be poured into development. The appearance, terrain, and features of the game, especially its increasing difficulty and chaos, just don't match Minecraft to me. The game only costs $20 in Steam, and right now I can say it is definitely worth it; things are only going to get better as the development team put out a roadmap that shows their content development plans for the next year.

So, yeah. I really love Risk of Rain 2 and I'm really thankful for the suggestion, but I'm against this suggestion because of the reasons I listed. I hope what I said makes sense and doesn't seem like I'm trying to be rude.

All G, I did mention that I had ideas I didn't want to discuss, but I will add this here to the fast pace of the game, the speed effect and jump boost effect can work wonders in the game when stacked. I know what you mean by the game is blocky, there are a few techniques to get around this too, but everyone has their own ways. \o/

EDIT - A better way to say it, the game gets harder over time, if the player isn't collecting the items, they will be overwhelmed, however if they are building items, it won't be too bad.

Actually yeah, horses could be a way to get around the block terrain issue. And I agree that there are ways to get around many issues. That's just my take on it and I'm glad you suggested it. I'm open to hearing other opinions about it too! ^^ I just wanted to give my feedback. Thanks for not interpreting my message as rude haha

I would love to have this as it provides a solo game to a community that has barely any players. Although one thing to add is the fact many servers might need to be running and would be very costly. Although not certain on this as I'm not apart of staff etc.

I would at least like to have a rpg of some sort that is 1 player as many minigames aren't like this. I always adored the games I played on different servers that are single player as I don't adore having to constantly play against or with people as it isn't that fun sometimes. As well the wait times suck. Anyways the single player genera is ruled by this one server with about 1k players. Kinda sad no other server made a "popular" single player rpg game.

So yea I would love to have this as it provides a new genera to the server that is uncommon and unused throughout minecraft servers.

I think I know what server you're talking about - I played on it for a while, too. That kind of thing is really fun because you have the option to play by yourself or with friends. I think it worked well in Minecraft - I just think implementing Risk of Rain 2 into Minecraft would be too costly in time and money for the result. But if the development team decides to take it on, kudos to them! My opinion obviously doesn't dictate what suggestions are accepted or denied, so if they think it would be a good addition to the server, then great. I'd still try it out if it was implemented
