Maybe the evil temperament helped Him survive such monstrosities, or perhaps the goodness in His soul was so pure that He found a way to manage Himself in the abyss of not having anyone to rely on. She agreed. However, she didn't know that by her most prized possession, he meant he would take her brother Damian's life for these powers. Nobody knows this.

Backstory (Specify if anyone/no one knows it) : Maria was born into a rich family among the Valkyrie. She was an unusual child, for a valkyrie, as her father was an angel. His traits carried into Maria, snd clashed with her mothers. Creating who she was. Most valkyrie were more, quiet, mysterious, while Maria was bouncy and bubbly. Unfortunately, because she was different, she was bullied a lot as a child, and developed social anxiety. As she grew older, she learned to control the anxiety, and it became minor, and many things tht once triggered it, were harmlesd to her.
Anyway, during her tween years, her parents divorced, and she decided to live with her father, as her mother and her, did not have as great a bond. Her father taught her to control her abilites and overcome weaknesses. Her father was her bestfriend.
Happiness didn't last long for Maria though, and her father died by the age of 15. She was devestated and hurt. She couldn't understand why he had left, until her mother revealed, on her 17th birthday, that he gad fought in a war. And she had been one of the many deciders of his faith.... convincing all on choosing to lead him to the underworld.
Since then she has hid from the truth, changed her last name, and cut off all contact with her mother. Scarred, and boiling inside. Though, shes trying to be positive...
