Story Requesting Characters

Will I start the story with a cliche?

I'll be making a story then.
Because I'm bored.
And I like to procrastinate.
It will probably be a better writing level than 'The Courts of Ragni,' while being less dark.
So ya I need like, thirteen characters.
It's going to be based on people who hate their powers because of some event with the type of magic that awakened it.
For example, someone who's whole family died in a fire can now control fire.
Very fantasy.
Much magic.
Will no longer be accepting characters.
I'll just write with what I have.

Name: Tristan
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Appearance: Dark hair and bright eyes. Scars up and down his arms due to Unfortunate event. Wears dark clothing, and a beanie.
Unfortunate Event: He and his family were going on a "little vacation" to a beach house. Sadly, when they were driving across the bridge a suicidal maniac drove straight into the side of their car. They spun out of control and veered straight off the bridge into the ocean.. The heavy, metal truck sunk to the bottom and water filled the truck instantly, no time to react.. Tristan woke up on a sandy hill, whilst his family .. You get the point..
Relating Power: The ability to control water/liquids.
General Personality: Very Introverted, has social anxiety, socially awkward, lacks self confidence - however is uniquely skilled in many different things.
Extra Information: He likes to be called "Tris" for short, that's if he even opens himself up to anyone.

Umm, your relating power, 'controlling nature,' also referred to as chlorokinesis, doesn't have much to do with the event?
Perhaps an ability based on emotions, the ability to perceive a persons sins, and manipulate the person using that.

Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Platinum blonde hair, pale skin. Very skinny, also short. Bright blue eyes. Wears skinny jeans, oversized jumpers/sweaters and worn out converses.
Unfortunate Event: An armed prisoner enters her school at shoots up the place. Unknown to her, Callie uses the power of localised time dilation to freeze time and save her friend from being shot. However, the bullet is inches from her friend and Callie is unable to move her or the bullet. If Callie unfroze time, her friend would die.
Relating Power: Has the ability of localised time dilation
General Personality: Shy, quiet, timid, jumpy, introverted, mostly unnoticed by everyone. If she speaks up, people just confused. No one has ever heard her shout/scream.
Extra Information: The other characters included aren't frozen in time.

Guys I'm looking for powers very directly related to the events. @HelloColdWorld perhaps she froze time at the school, and couldn't figure out how to restart it, leaving all the people there trapped in eternal limbo?

Also, a cooler name for your powers is optional.
"Localized time dilation"

Appearance: Wears a lot of long black clothes. Black short-ish hair, red eyes. Sharp canine teeth and nails.
Unfortunate Event: Was being hunted by a murderer and almost killed 152 times over the span of 2 months, until finally killing the murderer with a conjured hunting knife.
Relating Power: Conjuring weapons from air
General Personality: Mostly the opposite of how he looks, generally positive, happy, and upbeat, yet insanely, extremely frightening when angry
Extra Information: Eyes glow bright red when mad

Unfortunate Event Once challenged his best friend to a "friendly" fighting bout, after friend takes a huge punch on him, he gets angry and starts hurting him badly, using an unknown speed, until his friend eventually drops and passes away. Alvin has never forgotten that moment, and using his powers is the only thing that makes him relive it.

General Personality Shy, yet very kind, cute, powerful, gentle, lonesome, scary if angered
Extra Music calms him down, possesses some cat traits

This power is more based on convenience rather than hatred.
I want the event to make them hate their power because they've seen what it can do to someone they're close to.

The power needs to relate directly to the event.
Perhaps a power to prevent sound from moving past a certain point?

Well, it kinda made it sound like she failed a music test as the unfortunate event.
Healing because of (insert injury here) is a bit too broad.
Also I want the event to be the reason they come into their powers.
Ex. A dystopian doctor killed (Insert loved one here) instead of saving them, and got away with the crime.
