Not going to lie, in a lot of roleplays on Creative, here's a list of owner MCs:

    HvS: Most dangerous Hybrid/Top Scientist
    HS: Top Student
    Camp: Target/Murderer [If it's murder.]
Danganronpa: Evil dude. [Haven't watched the anime or something.]

I think you get the point.

I just want to send the message that because you're the owner, it doesn't mean you're the center of attention, we players TPA to roleplays because we want something to do.

But my serious question is why do owners consider themselves like that, it's honestly a mystery to me. Vote in the poll if you agree.

Typically the owner has the popularous role because they get to choose the role first. Role-play owners tend to build their role play based off an idea or role from which they have experienced.

An example would be that the soontobe owner went to a role play such as high school. They wanted to be the top student but couldn’t because someone already had that role. They then built their own and gave them the top student role. This resulting in their satisfactory to their want (the role).

Another factor to this is that they want to be included and feel like a successful role player. Majority of players (from my perspective) consider a successful role-player to be the center of the attention.

I hope this was a helpful explanation of why owners might give themself the best role. They also (most likely) spent time and hard work to develop the role-play and want to reward themselves for a good job well done. I’m assuming they don’t mean harm or have any intention of stealing someone else’s spotlight. I’m sure if you asked them politely that they could make arrangements to give you a good role of your choice.

If this doesn’t make sense or answer your purpose for writing this thread, you are always welcomed to let me know. But freely speaking, you are right and this happens frequently among roleplays.

Ironically, one of the rules in several roleplays I've seen is not to be the center of attention, and if attention is equally distributed it's fun for everyone!

I usually don't take part in role plays but when I used to, I often found that the higher your rank was or the more friends you have online = the more attention you got in the role play. So you've got the nerdy shy kid in a HS roleplay ending up being the kid with the most attention.

With your problem, I can only guess that it is because they own the roleplay. They probably had a reason for putting in those specific roles in that specific type of roleplay. It's the same reason on why you pick a specific role in their roleplay

I agree with you. It probably has to due with something like everybody needs some form of attention, i'm saying everybody, but it doesn't have to be being popular, it can be with a close group of friends, over the internet, etc. or something unique to them. And the owners of the rps typically say "I'm gonna be the 'best' role because I have control over that and (subconsciously) want to be the center of attention." I'm not accusing anybody specifically, however a lot of rp owners are like that, albeit subconsciously most of the time, which is why rp owners typically deny the accusations.
Or you know they're doing it consciously, however I don't blame them either way. Everybody wants to be the what they perceive as the best role, because it's human nature. And the owner gets first pick so they typically pick it. The reason people don't pick what most people think as the best role is they don't think it's the best role.

TL;DR everybody wants the best role but best roles vary from person to person, that's why rp owners typically pick the most widely thought to be best role (because it's widely thought to be the best role and therefore is likely that the rp owner will think it is the best role and pick it.)

Well, the truth is, when you make a role play, you make it exactly as you want it. You're building a world that is ideal to you, and that will be the most fun to play with. So, naturally, you want to reap the benefits of your hard work. Is it too much to ask? A little bit, but that doesn't stop us ;)

i mean, when i used to host rps, there were times when i was a bit of the center of attention, and there was times when i was completely forgotten in my own rp, but i mean, it is YOUR rp and YOUR plot, but yeah, don't steal all the attention

Well if the rp is story-driven then yes they should be, like once I hosted a lab containment breach rp and I had to act as all the monster things because they were hard to act out, but in other rps where that is not the case, definetly not
