Where are the 'supposed' changes?

haha it's okay, I was just trying to tease. No harm done lol

I definitely don't know the best solution to the problem of low player counts. I've never run a server before. But I hope we can figure something out soon!
there is no saving small servers as long as this game itself is declining in player count

Yeah... even big servers are suffering right now.

It doesn't matter if the big servers lose 100 players, it matters if the small ones like MCPZ do.

In my opinion, the biggest problem the staff team should be focusing on right now is the decreasing player count, right? Otherwise the server's gonna die if we keep waiting for the goodie bags any longer. Gamemodes like Splatter weren't even that popular, so it's not as if Splatter increased player count.

I sorta agree with timelord (though i disagree it's been 'three years') that the goodie bags were announced ages ago, and should atleast be out by now.

It's probably been at least two years.

Yeah, Splatter wasn't popular. It was cool for the first day or so, but... why play a minimalist version of Splatoon when I can just play the real thing? It's got so much more depth and replayability. I agree - the player count needs to be the focus right now. Goodie bags aren't going to attract new players - they're just going to keep us interested for a few days.

It shouldn't just be left to the staff team to increase the player count. We, as in the players, can help. We can advertise and recommend MCPZ to friends.

Of course we can, but what's appealing about a friend telling you to come join a dying minecraft network whose most popular minigame is Creative plots?

Well... 1 person matters. If 100 people tell 1 person each, that 100 turns to 200.

Unfortunately, I do agree with you all that playerbase has been depleting. Not sure about the speed, but that isn't my point.

The real point is, people do grow up and they change. Mcpz is a little hole in the wall server that we have our community and our community loves everyone in said community. But, minecraft has obviously still been popular but not as popular as when released say at 1.7.10 times. When larger servers had thrived and prospered with well more than millions maybe even billions of players weekly and daily.

Around the release of 1.10, a large server had obviously suffered an extreme loss of player income and dropped from 30,000 players daily...to maybe 6,000 daily, that is a HUGE drop. Using this information, we can see that either, A: The server had dropped in popularity because of people interested in new games like Overwatch or LoL.

Or B: The server was not getting better and got boring.

Of course, it could be both. But the first option seems a lot more probable than the second. So...knowing this..Minecraft in itself is slightly dying, thus also putting a lot of pressure on the game developers at Mojang. Server Staff in Minecraft Multiplayer, and much more.

Now, I'm sure MCPZ means a lot to you guys. Then let's try and fight to see what we can do to help the server and minecraft in general. Suggest newer games, see what other horizons of things we can make to help make the server a better place.

Now...about those changes...well...that's another time.

It has been 2-3 years I remember they had them with a bunch of gold and emerald and diamonds around them and they had the gold tag “goodie bag” above them I remember this because I found a shiny ghast egg during the Easter egg hunt there lol that was the year I got e+

I remember them like that too. I remember seeing them and the 'coming soon' text under the 'Goodie Bags!' title and thinking about when they would be released. I wouldn't have been so hyped for it if I'd have known it would take this long

Yeah :/ Minecraft servers have always had this bad habit of announcing new ideas before they're even close to being implemented. Like "Hey, we just came up with this idea. Coming soon!" as opposed to what I'm sure we'd all prefer: "Hey, we had this idea several months/a couple of years ago, and we didn't tell you about it until now because it's almost done, and are going to be ready to implement it in the next couple of months. Coming soon!"

This is something I've noticed on many networks, not just PartyZone.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, for reasons of personally being on the staff team and being a player on the network for 3 years.
From what I see from our staff team is full of extremely hardworking people that dedicate not only their time but resources in making the server a safe, comfortable place for all players. Whether is a chat offense or a disallowed modded client, our team works around the clock making sure exceptional results are given to not us, the staff team, but the players. Yes, I completely agree development is a bit slow right now, but I can assure you that they -goodie bags- will be implemented soon enough as well as many other exciting new updates and perks. I know it's a basic thing to say, but you have to be patient.

I agree with you, summer is a time for booming player count but there are many reasons besides the fact that updated are slightly delayed.
Many players, in general, are leaving MineCraft seeking for more interesting recent games such as Fortnite or PUBG. Interest has gone down a lot in the past 5 years, shown here along with compared statistics once Fortnite was released. I think it would be extremely ignorant of me to completely deny the fact that yeah, updates are delayed, but it's even more ignorant to solely base the decline in player count over delayed updates and such.

It is allowed as long as it isn't meant in an inappropriate or mean/rude manner.
My alt has just been banned. This is the second time I have been banned. I only got the alt for 2 reasons. 1 for programming to make it a little easier to test stuff and 2 for having a new start and just play for fun.

I was just using f5, I am so disappointed in this. I should of been recording so the staff team can see how wrong they were. Its sad this is the second time I have been banned just because they saw a simple f5 nothing more. Just me but the staff should learn more on hacking in the Helper phase.

This is why the staff team imo isn't that great. As well if you have seen suggestions there have been many staff appreciation day stuff or even a game about staff. This promotes popularity of being staff. Simply spoken the staff team needs to be better than just a random amount of players who think they know what they are doing.
...
I didn't mean to be rude if it appeared like that... I am just disappointed. As well my main wasn't banned or looked into. Just disappointed

Alright I was looking back at my cringy old post and came across this (posted in 2016) a post about goodie bags. https://mcpz.net/threads/goodbagilluminaticonfirmed.19262/ Keep in mind while reading this they were there way before I posted that thread in conclusion it’s taken them around 3 years to still not implement it

lol yep, we were right. It's taken a really long time. I'd rather have a minecraft server announce something when it's only a few months away instead of announcing something when it's around three years away. I've pretty much forgotten about goodie bags at this point.

I have an idea, lets implement a game that people want like bedwars or kitpvp, factions, prison! It seems like original games aren't working out for us very well.

Hiya,

I feel like instead of ignoring this thread you deserve a response - so here it comes.

Some of the statements you've put are entirely correct - we have had a drop in player counts, both due to the fact Minecraft isn't doing the best itself and that content that have been released hasn't necessarily taken off in the way we wish. For example Splatter - the Nintendo game that it is based off is very popular and we expected a similar thing which didn't happen. Any of the PartyGames, we were hoping that the new content would help with player count - it didn't really. It's not necessarily that we haven't been advertising either, we got YouTubers to promote the network but unfortunately not much came of that either.

The issue we are having as a relatively small Minecraft network is that Minecraft isn't doing the strongest when it comes to players as other games are becoming more popular and similarly major YouTubers don't tend to play Minecraft anymore.

Goodie Bags. This was promised and I understand how annoyed you must be that we still haven't released them however you need to understand from an administrative point of view we don't have very many developers. We have three and all of them are working on things - I would tell you what but it's backend for the most part. I can't promise it will come out at this moment or even within the next week or two but we are trying.

The "supposed" changes that you would like. Similar thing to the above paragraph. We don't have a strong amount of developers. It's annoying as people who would like to enjoy the content but we can't push everything at once. Things get worked on and then for example if Creative breaks we are going to work on that first because it's our most played gamemode.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: I think I got everything, if there is anything else feel free to message me or @ me here

Y'all need to understand that the problem isn't with PartyZone. It's just Minecraft in general. Look around. It's 2018. Fortnite exists. Overwatch exists. Steam exists. There's no suppressing the truth that Minecraft is being smothered by other popular, more modern games. We have to face it. Minecraft is dying, and there will be a point in time where the people who own Minecraft (I think it's Microsoft) have no choice but to shut down Minecraft, because there aren't any account purchases. People have made better games than Minecraft. More appealing. While Minecraft is a classic retro-ish game, many people would prefer to play a more modern, a sleeker designed game (such as Overwatch) than a kid's game where everything is a massive 3D pixel.

But who knows? Maybe in a few years some other hit MMO will come along, and perhaps we could rebuild PartyZone on that foundation. While what I said may be slightly dampening, don't lose hope. There will be a time in the future where we'll play with each other again.

Well it's not just with Minecraft. Like Kirstree said, there's only 3 developers on MCPZ. It takes a lot longer for updates and changes to come out because there's less of them.

I'd like to add that in December last year, when both overwatch and fortnite both existed Minecraft playerbase was at its highest yet with 74 million active players and over 100 million copies sold. At that time Minecraft was actually still ahead of both those games. As well as that, in the top 50 most played video games of 2018 Minecraft is only 3rd with GTA5 and Fortnite in 2nd and 1st, out of all of those 50 its still third. So blaming the fact Minecraft isn't doing so well is very much false, its doing better than it ever has before based off of statistics and facts.
