Recently @SenpieFoxxeh made a thread about question able things. There is no real solid line of most things in the rules or what is being said by staff. Our current rule book online is fine by how it's done, but Instead of having indirect rules why not make them direct? For example the rule : "Do not play against your own team" doesn't give a direct answer to a game or define what playing against or what teams are. This makes it all confusing and hard to follow them.
...
What to do:
Output 1: Do not play against your own team
Output 2: Murder Rules
1: If you are the bystander , do not play against other bystanders. Shooting other bystanders, helping the murderer ,or not shooting the murderer. Same goes with murderer.

Output number 2 sounds more focused on the game not in general.
...
What I'm asking:
1. Update the server rules so it's more game based than general based.
2. Less complexity in words and more direct rules.
3. Helpers and mods have almost the same answer when it comes to a rule or punishment for that rule. Ex: Depends on evidence.

...
Not trying to say it should be perfect yet the rules don't make sense to some folks out there and if no one has a straight answer what are they meant to think?
Current rules: https://mcpz.net/threads/partyzone-minecraft-server-rules.6724/

Some of these rules are obvious yet some don't seem like they are needed to be there such as the one stated above its not really a place for general. Some are chat rules, general rules, murder rules, and creative rules. As seen creative + elite survival does have its own rules yet none of the other games do. Having a general rule doesn't always make it clear in a game. Making the rules game based +chat +general will look nicer and improve the overall confused lead by the rules.

I totally agree and that was my point all along, however the thread didn't kind of end so well. Thanks for filling in for me

yeah, I doubt that the PZ staff will ever be any sort of professional when it comes to rules

when it really comes down to it, they put on a front by forcing helpers/mods to "talk professionally" with proper capitalization and grammar, but basically no server I've ever seen that's successful has to force their staff to act like actual staff

the core issue is that the staff team doesn't really care about staffing. they're all so caught up in their own political game on the server, this drama and that drama and whats-her-face said that thing to that player and RandomJoe83 is "dating" this person and all that.

successful servers have staff that actually stick around (have you seen the turnover at mcpz? only a couple mods have been around any sort of long time) and staff that are actually skilled at being, yknow, staff. authority. Most active MCPZ staff (Mods and helpers, primarily, given that admins and owners are fairly hands-off ingame because they're programming and manager-ing) are children, and they take the fact that they're staff to mean they're more powerful than players.

Not that they're a loose hand on the community to trim the rough edges, but rather the bosses of it. I know staff that openly admit the only reason they ask someone to stop talking about a certain topic is because it's not against the rules, but it bothers them, and they know that if they say "please stop" then they can warn players for "disobeying staff"

I knew helpers that got incredibly uptight upon their acceptance to the staff team, acting as though it was a serious hardcore job that they had to focus super hard on- even to the point of neglecting their friends, acting rashly and rudely to them, and ending up acting like the "bosses" they think they are, rather than friends who got a little bit more responsibility and power.

I'm sure staff will disagree, but every single one of them knows the extent of the petty drama that goes on behind the scenes. Not even gonna delve into the deeper issues (Am I really the only one who remembers why the admin "Pizzabrawler" (nice account change) had to step away from choosing who got on the staff team?), but really there's just nothing proper going on with this staff team. They've been faking it till they made it since day one, and really there's been no making it going on.

Took me a while to accept that the staff here isn't ever going to be staff staff, but at this point I just avoid them and deal with it because honestly they're often incompetent, unwilling to admit their own flaws (vagueness in the rules system, favoritism, blatant abuse in some cases (looking at Bheryl and Zan here) total cluelessness when it comes to actually being responsible rather than just playing at it), and really not helpful to the server.

At a certain point you can't even blame them, though, they come from a group of children (the player base averages like 11 years old, I believe?) and as a result, they act like a group of children, and plenty of them are literal, actual children.

Yea I understand it, pizzabrawler was a nice admin or what they were called forget the name yet remember something about it. I lost many friends because they became helper... they just never talked to me since then unless I engage with them. Yet at least I try or simply enjoy what I can for however long it may last. Nothing gold can stay isn't that a saying.

I honestly don't think I could have put it better myself. The blatant petty and childish behaviour that some staff members have put on in the past really makes me question a lot of things. Now, I haven't gone on the server in ages, nor do I know any of the current staff personally anymore, but in the past it was laughable. Inflated egos, favouritism towards friends and significant others, and just acting entitled due to a green tag makes me kind of sad. I haven't, and I don't pay attention to the staff team anymore, because I don't care.

Seeing a little bit of the behind the scenes in the past, I know they have done things about the issues to certain individuals, but some had also gotten away with it for a while. I don't doubt that people still take the rank and all the popularity and power that comes with it to their head. I've seen it happen first hand, I lost my best friend because of it.

Sorry for my small rant, but back to the suggestion. In my opinion, it should be implemented but I don't think it really will, unfortunately. The way they have it set up, unless it's a blatant offense, it's completely at the discretion of the staff member and their ability to use their judgement. That's where the favouritism point comes up again, but I won't explain any further since I feel Prison did a fantastic job at that.

For pretty much everyone, the rules are mainly just use common sense and play the game fairly. For those looking for loopholes(Which honestly, should just be fixed in the first place because there's always someone to exploit them), they'll always be able to find a way. Making the rules more specific would fix this. Your safest bet is to just not get on the nerves of people and do what you think is rational.

That is very well spoken hah. I know this won't be implemented when I first started yet why not give it a try or simply do some thing with my life even a simple suggestion is doing something. Good advice thank you very much.

Pizzabrawler is agh.
Hence the "nice account change" in my original comment.
Doubt agh will drop in and let us know why the staff team under his choosing was disproportionately females who happened to have a way of contacting him privately, though.
