I've gotta be honest, I haven't met a single person here that knows what 'Voltron' is. I guess I'll just have to let some of my fangirl slip through and explain.

Voltron's been around for some time, and by some time, I mean thirty-three years. It was originally a Japanese anime series called 'Beast King GoLion,' before getting trimmed down to what Voltron: Defenders of the Universe is. If you decide to watch the original 1984 Voltron series before you start the new Netflix original series, you might stop halfway through and think, "This is awful. Why did I listen to this girl on the internet?" But it's not bad! Well, the original definitely is, considering major plot details were cut out and the voice acting is less than great, but in general, I would recommend Voltron. Especially the Netflix original, Voltron: Legendary Defender.

If you do know what Voltron is, great! You're my friend, and I probably already taught you something about your favorite show. But if you don't know what Voltron is, that's fine, because now you can go watch it for yourself!

Now I've created this thread to chat about this amazing show, if anyone's even seen it before!

I have never seen a Netflix Original animation that was any good, storywise or animation wise.
Netflix can't animate.

Kra3tys, this isn't just your average Netflix original. Dreamworks is part of this too, and personally, I find the animation style gold. Not only is the animation great, but the story line is so intricate and makes it enjoyable to watch! I would definitely suggest watching it if you're into sci-fi and action/adventure. It's also humorous as well. I would say don't knock it 'til you try it!

If dreamworks is in on it it might be good, but I'm not talking the animation style is bad, but the animations themselves are lazy.

Lol sorry I had to change my votes quickly because I thought you meant the really old cool Voltron xD. I'v seen the movie and all that but not much of the netflix one. I might watch it some day.

If you liked the old one, stelth_elf007, then I would highly recommend the Netflix series! It has a bit of nostalgia for those who watched the earlier series. ^^

The fandom is cough toxic cough at times but thats what its like with every fandom. I do really enjoy the series and I cant wait for it to come back in August
