Unable to upload a profile banner

I'm trying to upload a profile banner to something, then I realize that it doesn't fit on the profile banner size, so I change to something else. Except it literally doesn't change to that other picture. I'll click on change profile banner, I'll put the file in, and then it just changes to the original profile banner that didn't fit. Help?

sometimes profile banners can take a while to change. i’d change it to the image you want and in about (max.) 24 hours it’ll update itself.
