A UNIVERSE AWAY.
A UNIVERSE AWAY.
''Miss Oh?''. . .
. . .''Miss Oh.''
''Miss Oh!''
Lin repeated, trying to get her Boss's attention. The loud remark made Yerim jump, lifting her head to meet Lin's gaze.
''Yes, Lin..?'' She replied, her voice sounding quite blunt due to exhaustion.
''Are you still working on the Webtoon? You should rest. After all, you haven't slept for about 48hours.'' Lin commented - mainly annoyed because she couldn't go home.
''I will.. I will, after I finish this one slide, alright?''
Lin let out a huff ; leaving the room.
She'd just finished the Chapter, ending it with Luka driving away in his fancy, pearl white sports car. Placing the pen down - she let out a shocked scream - falling to the floor. Her arm was beginning to disappear?
Lin came running into the office, only to find Yerim's purse laying on the floor and papers scattered everywhere.
''What the-''

He quickly slammed the car's breaks, trying desperately not to hit the girl. Where had she come from? She wasn't there a second ago.. The car came to a stop; hitting the girl lightly. He jumped out the car, running to kneel down next to her.
''Miss, are you hurt?'' He carefully observed her, confused to what she was so shocked by. She was staring at her arms in disbelief; as if they shouldn't have been there; an anomaly to the rest of her body. Eventually, she turned round to look at him, tears welling in her eyes. She realised who he was in an instant - not understanding how he could even remotely be here. More questions flooding into her mind ; she quickly blurted ''W-where am I?''
''You're in Guru.. Did you hit your head? I'll take you to the hospital.'' He didn't panic, instead trying to use his adrenaline to do something useful. That was all she needed to prove it was true. Letting out a panicked scream she scurried backwards. Her eyes widening as she observed him,
Why wasn't he a cartoon?
It's a bit short, sorry. I do intend to make the chapters a lot longer!

''Okay.. You can wake up now Yerim.. very funny..'' She deadpanned, pinching her arm.
''What- what are you doing?'' He asked; now starting to panic a little; he barley even hit her, why is she being so.. weird?
''I'm trying to wake myself up.. from this weird.. dream.'' She replied - sounding as though she were convincing herself. He stepped forward, reaching out to help her up. She pushed him away. He went flying onto the ground - at least 2 metres away from her.
Confused by what had just happened ; she ran over ; panicking.
''Oh- Oh my.. god.. what happened?'' She panicked. He replied with a simple groan. She grabbed his keys, easily picking him up. Yes. The small 5''2 woman, picking up the 6 foot man. She sat him in the car; swiftly running to get in the other side.
''Who-who are you?'' He asked, slumped down in the rear passenger seat of the car.
''I am so sorry..'' She didn't really know what to say, knowing she wouldn't be in the system anyways, this was a different world, her brain couldn't come up with something like this.. it couldn't possibly be a dream..

Yerim jumped out of the car, running over to his side, supporting him.
''Excuse me.. Can someone-''
''Hey! I'd like some help over here!'' He shouted, 3 nurses coming up to greet him and suddenly he was escorted away. Just like that.
''Hey- I-'' She mumbled, even though he was no longer within a talking range. A nurse approached her, bowing, ''Excuse me, er.. Ms, what happened?''
Yerim looked utterly confused ; when she thought about it ; what exactly did happen?
''I- I don't- He-''
''It's okay Ms. It must be very overwhelming.. I mean it can't even image seeing THE Luka Samson get hurt.. I think I might've fainted.'' The nurse interrupted, emphasizing the 'The' way to much.
The nurse walked away ; beckoning for her to follow. They reached his room, off course , it was in VIP.
''Come in.''
She sheepishly walked in, seeing everyone there.
Luka Samson, The main character and CEO of Guru News.
Kang Jihyun, The supposed Heroine of the story and Luka's personal assistant.
Kim Donghae, Luka's best friend and body guard.
And finally, Gavin Finnigan, Luka's supposed 'nemesis' and the only relevant Police officer in the webtoon.
Gavin was sat beside Luka, reluctantly questioning him, however Luka gave no reply.
Luka turned to Jihyun, ''Can you escort him out? I'm not putting up with anymore attitude.''
''But we have to find out who did this-'' Jihyun pointed out.
''It's fine. I'll be on my way.'' Gavin stated, standing up and walking away, his face expressionless.
Gavin was soon gone, and everyone had noticed Yerim was standing there.
''Ah, Hello.'' Luka said, smiling at her. Although his smile looked normal at first glance, it was quite mischievous.. Most likely seeking information.
''Luka- ahem, Mr Samson, who is she?'' Jihyun asked, glancing back and forth between Luka and Yerim dubiously. The small female looked up, meeting Luka's gaze unintentionally, quickly reverting it back.
''I drove him here.'' She briskly stated, fiddling with her fingers as a distraction. Everyone was looking at her and she didn't particularly like it.
''She's potentially the perpetrator. Though if she was, I can't see how that would be possible.'' He added - looking right through her - that strange smile still plastering his face.
Donghae let out a laugh, half-pointing at Luka ''Hey, don't be stupid. She's tiny, she couldn't fracture one of your ribs.''
''I did say, I couldn't see how that would be possible.. if you'd listen to me that would be nice.'' He remarked, he wore a rather smug face as he glanced at Donghae, whom was sat on the pearl white sofa in the seating area of his VIP hospital bedroom. Jihyun was stood next to him attentively, folder in hand.
As if forgetting about everyone else in the room, Luka turned back to Yerim.
''Now. Can you , please , tell me what happened?''
She stayed silent, not knowing how to answer. In all honesty, she didn't know either.
''Well?'' He asked, lifting an eyebrow. As if she were thinking about it ; she stepped closer ; whispering in his ear ''I can't.. not with them here.''
He pressed a finger to his lip and sighed, ''Excuse us.'' Jihyun left the room immediately, Donghae soon following with slight hesitation.
''Well.. technically i don't know what happened. I definitely can't tell you what i do know here, but if the police ask i'll become the suspect. . . Please? Just this once let me go? After all, you did hit me with your car. .'' She pleaded, meeting his gaze, not letting him break it. She tried to make him feel guilty and, surprisingly, it paid off.
''Fine. However, you have to meet me in 1 week from now, deal?'' He offered, picking up his phone.
''Okay.. but i don't have a ph-'' She began, being interrupted by a phone shoving in her face.
''Take this one, i have 3 others anyways. You can come back in.'' Donghae and Jihyun walked back in, returning back to their original stations.
''Donghae, escort her out of the building and make sure the police don't see her, okay?'' He asked ; even though he wouldn't accept no for an answer.
He gave a suspicious look - but said nothing and nodded.
''This way.. Ma'am.'' He stated, opening the door for her. She rapidly followed ; not taking any chances of him changing his mind.
Once they'd left the building, Donghae slipped away back into the building as quickly as he'd came. She stood outside her friends hospital - in her city but it wasn't her friend's hospital or her city at all. Where was she? She was unsure. How did she get here? She was utterly lost, no idea of how she came or how to get home. She sat down on a bench ; a few minutes away from the hospital. Exhaustion seconds from taking over, her watch went mad. Spinning and spinning, approximately 7 days had just past in the matter of seconds. The sky changed from blue to black, grey to white. Her phone buzzed in her pocket - stopping her from dozing off , when a couple of men approached her.
''Excuse me? Can i help you?'' She asked, curiosity written all over her small face.
''Yes you can.'' The man situated in the middle responded, a crude smile on his face. He didn't say much after, causing Yerim to ask again.
''What can i help you with?''
''Well, y'see. We're in a bit of a money crisis. Can you.. give us some?'' The 2nd asked, while the 3rd looked brutally disappointed. She looked the up and down, they were all wearing Black tuxedos with fine, glazed shoes. They didn't look like they were in a money crisis, more like members of the mafia.
She snarled, ''If you're going to lie, at least look the part. If you want money, go sell your shoes or something. I don't have anything for you here.''
She stood up to walk away ; when the 3rd man grabbed her wrist. She instinctively pulled away, sending the man flying.
''Oh my-'' She ran towards him, apologizing, ''I am so sorry! I didn't know that would happen, did you fall?'' The other 2 men came hurtling towards her ; and instead of cowering like she thought she would ; she thrust her hand behind her, hitting one of the men so hard he went hurtling back even quicker than he had come. The other man, clearly the only one with common sense, cowered behind the bench she was previously sitting on.
She stood up, confused by the problematic scene, ''What are you doing? I don't think I have seen anything like this.. why are you throwing yourselves on the floor?''
The man shuffled away, pointing at her and mouthing the words ''Alien.'' in fear. Completely bewildered - she turned back to the road - to see Luka frozen in a shocked stare, sitting in his car. He shook his head and soon signalled for her to get in. She complied.
''How did you heal so quickly?'' She asked, her eyes trailing across his healthy body, genuinely confused.
''What do you mean.. It's been a week..'' Luka replied, soon thinking he'd pieced it together. He turned to look at her, realising she was wearing the same outfit, and sat on a park bench, for a whole week?
''Are you homeless?'' He blurted, before realising it was rude.
''I- Well-'' She began, knowing that technically she wasn't. But then again, technically she was. ''It depends on the way you look at it.''
He nodded, taking that as a simple 'yes'. He started the car. After short, he pulled over outside a cafe. He got out of the car, walking over to open her door but she was lost in her thoughts.
''Hello? Yerim?''
She'd realised why so long had passed. This was the webtoon world, and there weren't many - if any - scenes without the main character in. The time had skipped to avoid unneeded scenes in the webtoon. The rules of a webtoon suddenly flooding back into her head.
1- For a webtoon to end, something must happen to affect the main character.2
2- The main character is to always be in at least 70% of the webtoon.
3- A character is not official until they mean something to the Main character or the Secondary character ( usually the villain ).
She thought closely about the main 3. Time skipped because he wasn't there, the easiest way to get home would be for something dramatic to happen to Luka.
''Um.. Yerim?'' He waved his hand in front of her face, bringing her back to her senses.
''Oh, Yeah. Sorry.'' She stepped out of the car, wearily. The adrenaline that had kicked in earlier soon fading away now that she was out of danger, her fatigue resting over her. She collapsed in one swift movement, hurtling towards the floor. Luckily - Luka had opened the door for her and was able to stop her from falling - picking her up and resting her on a chair. He ran inside, panicking, which was strange since he didn't usually loose his cool.
''Please call an Ambulance, a girl has collapsed outside.''
He jogged back towards the entrance, grabbing a bottle of water. However, when he got there, Yerim was gone.
~
''Lydia!'' Lin called into the phone, panick straining her voice.
''Lin? Is that you? What's wrong?''
''Yerim's not here! Is she with you? She hasn't slept in days..''
''She's not? Yeri isn't with me..'' Lydia replied, her voice starting to get shaky.
''Can you come over? If she comes back it would be helpful to have you around, especially since you're a doctor now.'' Lin asked, excitement taking over her when she began talking about her occupation.
''Yes i'll be right there, but no time to talk about me now.''
A loud thud was to be heard from Lin's workroom, where they were sending an email to the local police department.
''What was that?'' Lydia asked, running into Yeri's office. ''Yeri!''
She was collapsed on the floor, black bags laying under her eyes.
''She's collapsed from exhaustion, Lin! Come help me pick her up!''
Lin came running in, and they moved her to the sofa in the workroom, when Lin received an email.
''A new chapter of U. has been released? What has she been up too?'' Lydia said, reading it from the monitor. She clicked on the link, able to see exactly what had happened in Yerim's day.
''That's weird, she wasn't in it before. She looks like Yeri, doesn't she?'' Lin questioned, knitting her eyebrows together.
''What- what are you doing?'' He asked; now starting to panic a little; he barley even hit her, why is she being so.. weird?
