Since Ditto is a new minigame to the community, not many people know how to play it.

So, what about at the start of Ditto, there is a tutorial for those who have it enabled through a setting item in the lobby? Anyone can easily disable the tutorial and enable it at any time when in the lobby!

Idk about this, It's just something I came up with I'm bored so feel free to disagree for no good reason

Neat if they can implement it without too much of a hassle on the other operations of the game, or on system resources +1

- 1 because.... When the game begins, it gives you clear instructions on how to play. "Draw a picture on the gray" or something along the line of that. The game seems to be pretty self-explanatory and isn't quite difficult in my opinion. This also means the developers have to work on this extra thing because players are incapable to looking to the side to see how to play.

+ 0.5 because... Some players don't pay attention to the small instructions on the side.

Overall I have to be +0 on this, but I am not a developer so I would not know how difficult it would be to do so, but it would be cool to see this implemented although it is not necessary.

[Edit]
It doesn't necessarily have to be in game either, it could be a forum guide instead. This would make it easier on the staff team.

This is a great idea! But we need some way to distribute this. A tutorial would probably be seen by all players, but a forum guide... even if linked in chat has limited visibility. There would need to be a way to ensure that people legitimately CAN NOT miss it if they need it, and are actively trying to play the game.

I'm not saying make full
Length animations, but just maybe a couple of setblock commands to show the users the ropes. Or something like that.

Yes of course, but I am also thinking about how difficult it is to implement it. I would love to see this added into games, it would ensure all players know the game works.

I am not a developer/nor am I good with coding. If it's simple to add and not a hassle for admins to implement I am all for it!

I think we should add 2 minutes before everyone makes their picture and at the beginning of the game there will be a little introduction. Like a game called "Death Run" which the server name I will not mention.

But I think of this as a +1

I have a little knowledge but not much

I don't think it would pulling teeth, but it certainly won't be a cake walk. The system I'm thinking about is something I can't mention, as it's on another large server, but essentially, if done efficiently, it can use low resources, and teach players how to play by essentially calling a few commands from even vanillia minecraft.

I think two minutes is a little bit of a stretch for a small animation on how to play a two step game.

Well actually maybe at least 1 minute would be enough.

I'm thinking add an extra minute to build phase, and try to make a minute long tutorial.

I think it could be even shorter, lets not forget Ditto is a two step game;
1) Draw your own picture
2) Then copy the drawing in front of you on the gray wool.
Either way it will take as long as it will, if this is implemented. I just don't see the tutorial being 1-2 minutes long, but as stated in the original post. It should be a add on, if players wish to go to the tutorial while in the waiting lobby. I do not think it's necessary for all players to have to go through the tutorial each time they join the game.

The tutorial would only be for players who are playing their first game. Once they are experienced, they know how to play. Simple.

Maybe I misread but I thought one of you was suggesting that everyone would go through this during the first minute of the building process, but I agree to this.

Though will we not wait for the players to finish the tutorial (if they're new) and if players have played the game, you'll have to wait for the tutorial being shown to the other players? It's kind of time wasting for the players who know how to play the game. I agree with @Aminuh's decision.

Yes, I would've been -1 if that was the decision.
we've made modifications, and in the original thread the owner wanted it to be a toggle, and if it was the first time you joined you'd do the tutorial while in the lobby.

Ah I see, I didn't read that part. Excuse me cx

I think this is a good idea for any new player for the network. Possibly this could also be implemented in murder for the newbies?

That's actually a good idea, they will probably have a tutorial in the spawn if it is implemented. I mean like at least 150 people play murder everyday. I came to the server for Murder and I know a lot of people do too. And there are new people joining every single day. So, That is a good idea @Amandq +1

YES. PLEASE. I tried to play Ditto and I was so confused I was like "Build a picture sure! That's easy" Then I just stood there like an idiot waiting not realizing the giant picture in front of me wasn't mine. Then I looked up and said "Do I build this thing?" In chat I think idk and I only got 3 blocks in xD
