In Elite Survival, when you have a very high leveled item, such as a Diamond Sword with many good enchantments, you tend to use it a lot. The problem is, nothing lasts forever, especially that Diamond Sword after two good trips to the Nether, hunting for Wither Skeletons. So, you go home, and think, "Oh, I've got 65 levels on me, more than enough to merge my Diamond Sword with another to give it back its durability!". But, when you get back, when you make that brand new Diamond Sword, when you're ready to give your number one weapon a fresh start... "Too Expensive". What do you mean... "Too Expensive"?

This is an issue that all users have to deal with, and it can really be annoying for some of us. You can put so much work into a single sword or bow and use it with confidence just to find that when you are about to repair it, the Anvil says "Too Expensive". Please, get a plugin or something, and remove this. This is extremely frustrating, because it makes your number one weapon which you put so much time into feel useless. All that time getting those levels, enchanting those books, gone. Because "Too Expensive"...

...

Please get rid of this. Thank you,

(Don't forget to Vote on whether this should or shouldn't be implemented and tell me why down below ;) )

I definitely think this should be worked around (and I don't think this should even be a problem in vanilla). The player, not the game, should decide when an item is too expensive to take time repairing.

I am not sure if this is possible without full on forge modding. This is a hardbaked feature in the game. It may be possible to change, but it can break some stuff

My best advice is grind repair levels a lot, and try your hand at arcane repairing

Eh, I don't really have a say on this because I haven't had this problem (yet) but it gives you another reason to play Elite Survival because then you haven't beaten the entire game yet or don't feel accomplished enough to say you've beat Elite Survival

Thank you for the input

Arcane repairing almost never gives you back exactly what you had, it either downgrades it, deletes some of it, or just doesn't give you anything at all. You REALLY have to be high leveled for it to matter, and it shouldn't. It should be your choice on what is too expensive or not, like Emviar said.

You can't beat Survival in the first place, there are bosses like the Wither, the Ender Dragon, etc. but they are all milestones. You can always build more, craft more, map more, etc. There is always more, you can't just win. This just gets in the way and can be extremely annoying if you put a lot of work into a good item and realize it doesn't matter just because "Too Expensive".

what the hecc is arcane repairing
A buff in mcmmo that is directly linked with the repairing skill. Allows users to repair enchanted objects without levels. Higher this arcane repair level is, the less likely you are to toss all your enchants.

Point is, it’s possible already, just with grinding and without an actual anvil. A change like this is not really needed

One however would need to grind to around level 900 of the skill for it to be amazing odds

And why grind that far up when it should be your decision what is too expensive in the first place? It's your XP. It's your sword. You can make the decision you don't need the game to tell you what you can't do with your XP and items.

It’s mojang’s anvil limit that’s coded in both client and server side, and while there is probably a way to deal with it in bukkit, it’s more than likely more trouble than its worth if it isn’t already a created plugin.

You need experience levels to enchant something or repair something, it’s a feature that has been in the game since forever. The point is, there really is no way to take out the “Too Expensive” feature, and trying to get around it is just lazy.
