Long time no see. Recently I've logged onto PZ again and to my epileptic horror I see this:

I can not genuinely be the only one who is bothered by all of the colors. It hurts my eyes and I imagine I'm not alone in feeling that way. I can't even talk to people in chat without getting a headache. I swear, I'm going to be seeing
L G B T Q + P RRRRR IIII DEEEEEEEEEEEE +++++++
in my dreams for the rest of my life. I have legitimate eye and brain problems so seeing all of those colors causes my brain to spaz out and I start panicking.

For the people such as myself that find tags a very unnecessary and unprofessional addition, there should be a way for us to toggle it off. I really don't care if people are LGBTQ+, PRIDE, or whatever other tags there are. All that matters is their username and what they're saying, I don't need any of that extra stuff!

solution
just make it so we can toggle them off bro its a pretty simple and reasonable request

Completely agreed. Yes, I may be a hypocrite because I have a tag, but MAN do my eyes bleed and my brain begs for the torture to end. It hurts, so, so bad. My eyes are super sensitive to bright light and flashing colours (not epileptic, I just get bad migraines whenever lights flash) and whenever people have a conversation in chat I have to look away. Some people would say “an easy solution is to turn your chat off!!” but what if I actually want to talk to my friends? What if I joined the server... to make friends and not isolate myself???

TL;DR: My eyesight is poor enough as it is, please just give my eyes a break and make this toggle-able.

I definitely agree! It has made the PZ chat so much more difficult to read. I don't think I should have to make an rp chat and do /global chat off in order to not see a million different colors and tags such as the Pride tag. Everyone uses it, which is great, but there are so many colors and so many people using it. That it just hurts to see a flood of colors the second I log on.

While I love tags, I have to agree. If I’m logging on at night, which I normally do, it hurts my eyes so badly to the point I normally have to turn off chat as my vision is extremely sensitive.

Yeah, the first time I logged on to PZ when tags were a thing was during the Easter event, I believe, and the tags were really annoying. I don't have epilepsy or eye problems, but I'd be lying if I said the tags weren't incredibly annoying to see in nearly every message. Ranks and usernames are enough for me; I really don't care what their tag is.

Nothing specifically against the LGBTQ+ and PRIDE people or tags, but they're so color-heavy that I'll be vomiting rainbows if this keeps up.

It shouldn't be a difficult feature to add - all we really need is a command like /toggletags or something like that, or put it in the user preferences menu.

I'm in support of this. :ironic_dab:

I have to agree, while they're fun and used frequently and even I myself use them, it does sometimes get a bit too much on the eyes. It wasn't nearly this bad before Pride Month, as not nearly as many people had them (not saying that was a bad idea, players do enjoy it) but it definitely has made looking at chat particularly harder, especially as the tag most used due to the fact it was free for half of the month is literally a mixture of bright colours which bounce off your screen if you stare too long.

I mean my eyes are very sensitive and it causes me to lose focus at times or get minor headaches, meaning I have to log off or rest. It's tolerable for about two or three hours maybe when chat isn't speeding by, but I mean in peak times that is certainly a struggle, and I mean I'm not the only case with very sensitive eyes and/or a medical condition, as mentioned by multiple here it's been a bother for reasons like that, I don't see why it shouldn't be implemented.

It's not like it's going to prevent the use of these or make fewer people use them if someone wants to use them, there is absolutely nothing stopping them, but some people can only take so much and certain times (such as late at night or early morning) it's a lot to look at

tldr: they're a lot to look at, I don't see any reason why this shouldn't be implemented
