Is dying your hair worth it, or just a waste in money?

I'm thinking about maybe dying my dark brown hair to pastel mint in the future, but I want to know if it's worth it or not. So far I made a list of pros and cons for the idea, but i'd like the opinion of people who may have experienced dying their hair before, or just now about it?

PROS:
It'd look pretty.
It'd match my mint glasses.
It'd match some of my outfits.
I'd stand out a bit more.
It'd be my favorite color.

It'd match some of the pastel mint things that I own.

CONS:
Expensive.
You'd have to re-dye it often to keep the pastel color from fading.
It might get in the way of certain outfits. {Ex. Black outfits, themed outfits.}
It'd take away my natural look. {I have a goal of looking pretty without the use of beauty products.}
It might damage your hair.
I'd feel guilty for replacing my natural hair color.

Any opinions on whether dying your hair is worth it or not?

I would try out a temporary hair dye first to see if you like that. That way you'll still have a similar color to your natural hair color after the hair-dye fades. If you like the look, go for it! And if you don't, it still ends well. :)

Id dye it regardless of what other people think

Anyway just wear whatever colours you want
I mean cmon seriously i wear like 7 different colours every day

If someone says you cant go out like that then point me in their direction so i can kick them in the shins

Okay, as someone who has dyed their hair a lengthy amount of times, here's some advice:

Dying your hair is a great way to spice up your confidence or change up your style, but it will be very hard to achieve your exact natural color and texture if you have regrets. I have had my hair bleached a few times, and it seriously does damage your hair. If you plan on bleaching it, you need to be aware that it is not only very hard to maintain, but your hair will most likely begin to break easier and texture-wise it will begin to knot much easier than it did previously. I suggest that before you fully go in and bleach all of your hair, that you maybe get some highlights to see how bleach will effect your hair as there is no guarantee on the amount of damage it will cause. Final tip, do NOT bleach your own hair, get it done by a professional! Bleaching your own hair exponentially increases the chance of damage and can be horrible for your hair. Although cheaper may sound better, you want good quality bleach so that you have some hair left. I apologize for this lenghty rant but I just wanted to warn you so you don't make the same mistakes I have made. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck and I am sure it will look great.

if you do just go for normal colours, imo sometimes it goes overboard.
