Hey! So if you weren't aware already, threads that haven't been replied to in two weeks are locked and people will no longer be able to reply to them (someone told me that the limit was increased but I think not). It can be hard to calculate when exactly a thread locks, which is especially an issue on the Stories forum. I was thinking that the website could send you an alert when your thread is about to lock, for example: Your thread "Thread Lock Warnings" will lock in 24 hours! This would save people having to create new threads on the same topic because the previous was locked, and it takes up less unnecessary space on the forum.

Well, you should get a notification when someone does reply, so if you don't get notified there should be nobody who replied to the thread, though why need a notification if your thread is going to lock? It may be handy to some people. But why create a new thread on the same topic if the previous has been locked? Because there really is no point because if it had no replies before, it probably won't have any replies after, in that case it might get locked again, other than that I agree

I believe the main reason/usage for a thread lock warning would be for the Stories section of the forums (as Spirits said) because many of us regularly post chapters on the same thread so we have to keep an eye out for when the thread locks otherwise we would have to recreate the thread. To make it easier on the developers then I guess the warning feature could be implemented in specific sections such as the Stories section?
