They Were Wrong
I groggily rose in my bed and peeled off the covers, glancing over the digital clock that rested on my nightstand. 7:30 AM. I always woke up like this. I can never pinpoint how I don't get tired of the way I trudge through life. I scanned my room, taking in the details and trying to remember what I have to do this morning. To the left nestled a single desk with a Dell laptop, a jar of writing utensils, an a pile of charger chords. My bed sat right in the middle of the room where a window was planted on each side and a cream nightstand stood to the right. After two minutes of sitting idly in bed, I stood and heard my legs creak. Gross. I'm not getting that old, am I? I'm only eighteen, a legalized adult. Aching all over, I ambled towards the arch in the wall across my room and found myself in the smallest living room that could have possibly ever been installed. Lord, it was only a square with 14 feet on each side. I hardly have enough room for a small fold-able chair, a coffee table, a dresser, and a radio-box-size television. I marveled at the room's size, claiming I'd never get used to it, and carried on walking through another arch in the wall. My apartment had no doors, just arches, besides the door that I use to walk into my temporary one story home. I arrived at the kitchen, at least, that's what I can call it. It's actually just a strip of hall with a built in microwave, oven, stove, and mini fridge in the wall. Boy, what a cheap way to live.

"Oh my god, you can't be serious," she screeched. I stared at Hailey. "What's it to you?" I asked, annoyed.
"It's just- Oh, Marissa, you can't just quit! You've been working here for two whole years!" My boss's eyes looked desperate. I cringed.
I sighed, an angry sigh, it was. "Man, how much longer do I have to stay in this craphole? I am so out of here, out of this town, and out of your life. Don't you know I've been here since I was five?" I stomped and threw off my apron. I was officially finished with working at Slice and Dice Pizza. "There's no way in heck I'm changing my mind;" I got close to her face. "-and there is definitely no way I am extended my work here. I've been here for so long, I nearly know everything about you!" Heat rose in my cheeks as I continued to rant at her. "I am done, out, and gone. You can forget me from now on, understood? I've made enough money to leave this place, and I'm going to do it," I said adamantly. Hailey's face morphed from disbelief to pure anger. I hightailed it out of there before she could scream. I was finally going to make it out of this town.

NOTE: This is a W.I.P.
I am not nearly done with it, so I'll just bump this whenever I make an update. (And if I have bumped within 48 hours, I'll get someone else to.)
