Yes, it's finally out ;D
Chapter 2: The arrest, the attempt.
I heard Jimmy. I was absolutely terrified.
Backing away from the broken window, I got some old rickety walkie-talkies that smelled of nothing but dust.
I gave one to Jim. We saw Sykes, aiming his gun at a normal citizen, but immediately left. He went into the building we were in. I went downstairs without Jim. I told Jim to see what Sykes was doing.
After minutes, he finally responded.
"Okay, I see him downstairs now," he whispered into the old gizmo.
"What's he doing?" I asked.
"He's stashing his gun."
I ran up a metal ladder leading to the roof. Minutes later, Sykes left the stash and a rifle was shot.
Jim followed him into the mechanic's room below the apartment building.
"Alright, he's in the mechanics room," Jim said quietly into the dusty machine.
"What is he doing? You gotta keep telling me dis," I said.
"He's heading for the boiler room."
Just then, a SWAT team arrived. I didn't know where Jim was, nor did the police. They didn't know where Sykes was either. Jim sprinted towards the metal door and heard Syke's footsteps towards the left. He tiptoed towards it where a metal ladder was, leading into the sewers. It smelt rotten.
"Monk, I fo---"
Jim responded, but the signal cut.
"Jim! Do you hear me?!" Sykes caught him. He wasn't dead yet.
No response.
