I'm not being racist or anything, but the brunt of PZ staff speaks english.
This leaves the Italians to violate chat rules in their language unbeknownst to anyone.
Some of them are putting some pretty unfriendly, nasty, and violent messages into chat.
Not saying all of them.
Not saying 'ban all italians.'
Just saying, for the sake of the good italians, have staff educate themselves on common curse words and derogatory terms in the italian language.

Some staff members do have a translation mod installed. So when a non-English player comes online, every sentence they say gets translated into English.

Though those who do not have the mod, (like you stated) don't know the inappropriate words. But I do not believe this is necessary.
If the staff can speak Italian, great, if not, then it doesn't matter. But if a player (who happens to speak Italian) sees an inappropriate word, they can just report it to a staff and indicate it's in another language.

Let's say this happens, why just Italian? Why not French or Filipino? It seems weird to just learn one language's curse words and not other most used languages?

Because Italian is relatively common as opposed to those.
We have an Italian speaking playerbase just as large as the English speaking one.
Whenever a staff member sees a different language in chat, they tend to put the word into google translate, I'm sure this is much easier than trying to memorise a whole bunch of words.
That works too.

There are quite a few common words repeated in a certain language which mods get used to knowing when they see it on the server, as well as when they sense something fishy they can just translate it or they have the translation mod on :p

Basically what I'm suggesting

personally when I start suspecting abusive behavior from a different language speaking user, I just throw it into google translate, and report it if it's actually bad.

Generally what I do too tbh.
There are a few very common words to look out for.

I'm afraid we can't make learning key aspects of another language a requirement for Helpers when they join us as it wouldn't be plausible. Staff usually pick up a filter to these words and if any of our staff wish to educate themselves then they're welcome to.

If you see anyone swear in Italian, feel free to file a user report or /msg a staff member to give a heads up. Nearly all staff have an on hand translation medium anyhow. Thank you for your suggestion though.
