You have probably seen the video before. The video has popped up about a week ago and has taken the Internet by storm.

I’m talking about the Yanny VS Laurel debate.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, this video has a robotic text-to-speech voice saying either “Yanny” or “Laurel”.

Personally, I believe it’s Laurel because that would make more sense than Yanny. But, I heard Yanny first.

What do you think it says? What did you first hear it say?

I, honestly, didn't even get close to hearing Yanny. I heard Laurel. But, that could just be me.

I heard Laurel the loudest but if I listened close enough, I could hear this really smol voice saying Yanny.

I hear Yammy,
I also hear Laurel.

Really depends on what device I’m using.

Frequency is key.
Yanny is set to play if you pick up higher frequencies through your ear, but Laurel if you pick up lower frequencies. Overall it could be your ears, or your brain subconsioisly choosing which frequency to pick up.

The correct answer is Laurel though.

If you listen closely and try to zone out the voice saying Laurel, You can barely hear a silent voice say Yanny.

So, The correct answer to this is, Both. Cause if you listen closely you can hear both of them.

Depends on the individual and a few other things. Say you were given the audio without knowing it's either Yanny or Laurel. You'd probably just think it's sound. Your brain somewhat searches out the words once you hear that they supposedly are in the audio recording. Pitch is another thing that someone already brought up. Really depends on all that. So technically, both play. I hear Laurel, though.

Leave this stuff on Facebook?

The higher pitch is yanny and the lower pitch is laurel

so both?
No because the original recording says Laurel, but when added higher frequencies, others heard Yanny.

I guess you’re not wrong?

But the correct answer is Laurel

Technically, it sounds more like Laurel, but if you lower the pitch/frequency it starts to sound a little bit more like Yanny, but there's no "n" sound in there so it sounds more like "Yally" instead. If you raise the pitch/frequency it's just someone saying Laurel.

also why are facebook trends getting into pz now

I watched this scientific explaination video on this whole thing, and apparently the guy who recorded the clip said “laurel”. To be honest I have no clue, I hear both sometimes but mostly “laurel”.

i heard white and gold

The correct answer is Laurel, the original clip was made saying laurel (however I believe it was modified a bit, or said in a weird or different way, correct me if I'm wrong though). The frequencies/sound waves of Laurel and Yanny are more similar than you would think, and that's why people hear different things. As for what you hear, that depends on your age and what device you are listening on, as well as if you are using headphones. I have also heard that it may be affected by where you are standing? I originally heard Yanny no matter what device I was listening on, however I just went back and listened to it again and for the first time I heard Laurel. It seems that if I have my headphones really close to my ear, I hear Yanny but if I don't have headphones on I hear Laurel. It alternates though.

Sorry for the essay, I've watched too many science videos..

I only hear yanny :/ I think I heard a laurel on someone else device though.

Science and stuff is pretty cool, for the arguement I would say both as I don't know anything about word or speech soundy stuff yet in china something can sound the same yet mean so many different things and maybe yanny lowered sounds like laurel making both correct yet laurel is correct in the orginal version apparently.

Depending On The Video I Either Heard YAnny Or Laurel But I Heard Laurel

I hear Britney Spears saying her iconic line - "It's Britney-"

I hear Yanny
:)
but yeah, the pitch thing seems true because my friend said 'yanny' once, trying to prove it (the pitch thing), with a low pitch and I heard Laurel woAH
so yeah
