I think there should be a toggleable option for the name notify sound, as it sometimes gets annoying when you have tons of people saying your name at the same time, it'd be best to make it a command like /sound. So users can toggle it whenever they'd like.

I agree, if you're trying to get on with something on creative or in a game and people keep saying your name the noise can get extremely annoying, so I think you should be able to mute the sound too.

You have the ability, just turn off your speakers, or minecraft master volume, and I think the sound that plays is tied into noteblocks, so you could also try disabling jukebox and noteblock sounds.

Some people still want to keep their sounds enabled so they can listen to other sounds from Minecraft, it's honestly best to just disable the notify name sound rather than completely disabling all Minecraft sounds.

An example of this would be downgrade players who want to hear where all of the weapons are going off to determine if they're in immediate general danger

just turn noteblock sounds down, its not like we sit in creative and listen to noteblocks all day and its not killing any gameplay. I find this to be a hastle for the admins if you can just simply disable it yourself.

Some people may not know how to do this, and some people may be making noteblock things on creative. The reason for sound in minecraft is to listen to it. Like Jedijoe said, downgrade an example of this.
