I know emotes were recently put in, but I want this one taken away. It is highly offensive to people with real triggers. I know, I have them. Please consider this as it is highly offensive. Love you, staff!<3 Keep working hard!

where are these emotes? I don't see them.
Vip+ can use /emote list where you could use any custom emote for example "hi" and it says in chat with a golden highlight, Players says hi to everyone. They've been implemented today and they're really fun.

Coming to the suggestion the trigger emote might be triggering for few people but the best option it to ignore it if you don't like it because majority likes every single one of them, however I'll stay neutral till I hear opinions from others.

I honestly believe that even if its only one person that finds it uncomfortable or wrong, it should be taken away. To be perfectly honest, i got a bit surprised when i saw the triggered emote in chat.

I do understand where you are coming from. It can make someone feel like they’re being attacked. Personally, I do have a handful of triggers but someone saying “i’m triggered!1!” doesn’t really phase me/make me feel like I’m being mocked. If someone is being harassed or feels threatened by a player saying triggered, they can /ignore or message a staff member.

I apologize, but this argument is very invalid. If I do not like something like the “fart” emote because it’s immature and wrong (which, I actually stand for and despise that emote) it should be taken away. I understand you mean it makes someone “uncomfortable” and to be honest that emote does bother me and is actually very close to one of my triggers. If I, one person, find that emote uncomfortable, it isn’t enough to sway the developers’ view and change it.

Once again, if someone is mocking or making you feel harassed/threatened/uncomfortable by someone discussing trigger topics or even the word “triggered”, please feel free to contact a staff member or /ignore the player(s).

But most of the emotes are immature. 'Triggered' is so far the only one I've seen that I honestly don't like, and obviously other people don't like it either

I think I worded it wrong, sorry.
If the emote is offending to a certain audience or makes a certain audience uncomfortable, it should be taken away.

Edit: I didn’t read the top part. Oops.

“Triggered” is also very immature. The entire meme behind “triggered” is really immature, I will say. A vast majority aren’t attracted to certain emotes. I believe the worst reaction I got was when I came on and /dab ‘ed. A lot of people said that they didn’t like it, told me to stop, and just showed general distaste. Same with the “fart” emote. The first time I saw it, I didn’t like it at all. I have not seen anyone in game get upset about the triggered emote. I’m not saying that doesn’t make it valid, but I am saying that I have seen a lot more players angry about the dab then the triggered.

Also, my point still stands. A lot of people (dare I even say the majority of players) don’t have a problem with the emote, including some with triggers. Triggers may be a sensitive topic but someone getting really mad over the word triggered is a little weird. “Triggered” is an internet slang way to say “angry” or “offended”. In the real world, it also doesn’t even mean a trigger event to make someone anxious/scared/upset. It typically means to start something (i.e If you walk in front of a trap in Fortnite, you trigger the spikes and they shoot at your face!). The “triggered” emote shouldn’t really be offensive unless someone is mocking you, in which case, ignore the player or message a staff member.

I agree with Amandq, the way it was posted could have been a bit better, and as stated before can easily be fixed with /ignore or by messaging a staff member. Remember these emotes are here for fun, I don’t think anyone is actually triggered if they use this emote directed at you, they are most likely playing around. Tell them if it makes you feel threatened/uncomfortable, they will most likely stop, if they don’t tell a wonderful staff member! They are always here to help!

Literally everything offends someone in this unfortunate age.

I personally have certain triggers as well and I agree it should be removed.

Though some may see it as "only an emote", I feel like younger players who suffer from triggers can feel really discouraged if it's used in a context that may be making fun of the idea. There are plenty of emotes players can already use and I think that this was just a thing they added because it is well known as a meme. Some people have trouble coping with issues, especially younger people who barely know what they, themselves, are going through.

I believe it was simply looked over while developed. It's really not understood as much anymore after it became a thing people started saying as a "joke". +1

EDIT: If staff decide to toggle visibility for emotes, it shouldn't be removed because players can't see it anyway after that. Until then I still agree with this suggestion. :p

Maybe I misunderstand what triggers are, but I'm pretty sure the meme had more to do with triggering anger - and everyone has something that makes them angry - not about mental disorders or other stuff that triggers might be about.

And @Arujann what's with the disagree? It's true.

I agree with you to an extent, but obviously this has something to do with mental disorders, meme or not, it's discouraging and a bit rude to say "well its just a meme cant be helped". Thats like saying that if a person (for example) a bully bullied another kid, and that kid stood up and told a parent or teacher, for them to only be told "well its a bully it cant be helped / well its ____ whose doing it. Can't be helped theyre just being themselves."
It's sorta like saying "well, you're not me [a person who doesnt suffer from this kinda stuff] so your opinion doesnt count. I like it. So it's staying."

I did message a staff member and they told me if I felt extremely offended ( which I highly am ) I should suggest having it removed. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

( Also, I'm sorry you yourself have triggers, I have them, and they make daily life harder. )

Well, here's my take on whatever this thing is;

I do think that specific emote should be removed, not specifically because it may upset some members (Like myself, I did find it a bit rude of the devs to put it in), but it gets people more used to seeing it as a joke. There have been kids I've seen around the server who would see it and think it is an ok thing to joke about, which could lead to real world consequences. I myself have a few things that could be considered triggers by some, and have received real world mocking for them because of this "Meme". Not trying to get into the specifics, it left a big mark on me. But enough of that.

I do think this emote should be removed. It makes fun of a serious problem, and this "meme" tends to make people made fun of for trying to talk to someone about it (Trust me, I've seen it), and having it as an emote could worsen it, even just slightly, by telling people it's okay to be used as humour. Simply ignoring the players that are using it won't do anything for those consequences.

I may edit this later, because knowing myself I probably left out more things than I can count.. I tried not to make that into the category of "too long didn't read", but I hope I got my message across :D No offence is intended towards the devs, it could just be a case of just seeing it as a meme, not a real issue, like I did at first. But hey, no one's perfect, remember?

If enough people are genuinely upset about this, I'm in support of it being removed. I definitely don't think someone else's opinion doesn't count just because it differs from mine or I don't suffer from the same problems as they do. I guess that's why I said maybe I don't understand what triggers are, haha. Thanks for clearing that up.

This isn’t about “being offended” and I feel like your comment was out of line which lead to me rating it the way I did.

Our reasons for offense are pretty apparent, from a position of someone suffering from mental illness— it is detrimental

I don’t think you are understanding what I have said. If a player is throwing the word “triggered” at you (or even mentioning your triggers/joking about them) in an attempts to make you feel uncomfortable, message a staff member. If someone says the word, there isn’t really anything staff can do about it.

They did follow your advice sis. You said to talk to a staff member if they're using it to make them feel uncomfortable, yet apparently a staff member told them to make a suggestion.
