Summer Poetry Contest
​
We've had a lot in store for y'all this summer, our Summer Build competition, /warp summer, and finally, to wrap up this year's summer, our summer poetry contest! We've decided instead of our plain, ordinary story writing contests, we'll switch it up a bit. From August 1st until August 15th, we will be hosting our first Summer Poetry Contest!

Prizes
There will be 3 prizes for each of the 4 themes, so that's 12 prizes in total! The prizes are as follows:
First: VIP+, 5k Coins, Name in Murder
Second: VIP, 2.5k Coins
Third: 1k Coins

Themes
Well, I can't mention these themes without explaining them! We'll have 4 themes in total; 2 in each category (poetry and song writing). The themes are as follows:

Poem Themes:
Make a poem that has the following three phrases; ‘plane ticket’, ‘sun’, ‘disaster’
Goodbye Summer

Song Themes:
Campfire Songs
Best Summer Memory

Rules
-You must have written and own the poem/song
-No topics may be included in your poem/song that are against our Forum/Server rules
-Stick to the themes, feel free to adapt them as you like, but the general idea should be similar.
-Only one submission per player and only one player may write each submission
-The poem/song must have been written between August 1st and 15th
-You may not plagiarize another player or writer's work, or make it too similar to one another
-You may not submit an entry for a friend, or enter multiple times
-Of course, all PartyZone rules apply.
Failure to follow these rules will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.

But the tough thing is, if I wrote a song, I have no idea how to get it to the event team :thonk:

Just write down the lyrics to your song on a google doc or in a spoiler, and put it on the submissions thread! (If that’s what you meant.)
 
Is there a limit for how long the poem can be? If there isn't, you guys are gonna end up having to sit through two 15 page poems XD.

Also, how are you able to tell the difference between a poem and a song if we're submitting them online? Does this mean that I'm able to just write poems as songs, or is there something I have to add to make them different?

Last question for now, are we going to have to perform these poems/songs at any point, or are we free from the embarrassment :p?

There is no limit, be as creative as you want! We don’t mind having to read all of your great work (;

The poem and song themes are different, so when you submit it you’ll say if it’s a poem or a song and what theme you’re using, and that’s how we’ll tell. There isn’t a lot of difference writing wise, but take a look at a poem and a popular song and you’ll see the difference.

No, you don’t need to perform them.

I mean I'd obviously have my own tune to the song in my head, but it really is just about the lyrics, so I guess that'd work.

You may only submit one thing, so you have to choose between writing a poem or a song.

You can write it under a spoiler in the submissions thread, or just link a google document with the poem/song on it.
