part three// test subject?
...
I stood in the room shocked and appalled. I was a test subject. I mean, I had guessed that I wasn't sick but the fact that I was being tested on in what must be a laboratory disgusted me. I felt scared, confused and I didn't really know what to do. I locked the door and sat in the small armchair to read the long files about me as a test subject. I opened the first page; it read -
Sue Cullen - Subject no. 24, 5/24/15
2015? I had been here, almost unconscious, for 3 years without knowing? I was utterly confused, but read on.
Today, Sue was injected with our new drug to see what it would do. She has started having fits and has broken out in multiple rashes. We will have to remove some ingredients and try again next time she wakes.
To her, she has fits often but we are trying to discover why.
Signed, M-R.
M-R; Mary-Rose? This meant that I wasn't safe at all, and I needed to escape but not yet. I still need to find out why. I read on for hours until I heard the door starting to budge..
3:07pm
"Hey, whats going on?" said Mary-Rose, staring through the small window in the door. "Sue!! Sue, what are you doing? Get back into bed sweetie!"
I sat in the corner trembling until I broke out into a cold sweat. Beyond the door I could hear Mary-Rose's thick accent screaming out to other staff members to pry open the door and I contemplated what to do. Looking around, my only option seemed to be to jump out of the window and make a run for it...
Mary-Rose's p.o.v -
I wrestled with the door with Carl and other technicians amongst me trying to pry open Sue Cullen's door.
After a long try the door bust off of it's hinges and fell to the ground. I was the first to race in through a thick cloud of smoke and dust, and I traced the room. The keys were in the door, the log was left opened on the table, the sticker picked off enough to reveal the words 'test subject'. More importantly, the window next to her bed was wide open and Sue was nowhere to be seen.
"She's gone!" I screamed "Sue Cullen has escaped, and she needs to be found and taken back here - instantly!"
"You heard her," yelled Carl "Go find her and punish her, people!"
