Story sign ups

Hey everyone! I am writing a crime-based story, with romance. I thought I'd give character sign ups a shot this time.

Spoiler: Plot of story

All crime is legal for 36 hours. If you get caught after that amount of time with some sort of evidence that could help prosecute you against a crime, you will be charged with the crime you committed. Video surveillance and fingerprints will not be used, so basically if you are caught with a body or something you have shoplifted you will be charged. This kind of sounds like the purge (from the one advert I have seen around 2 months ago or so) but I can't really base it off of that, because I've never seen it. I was thinking I could make it kind of like the hunger games, where a dictator is using a strange method to keep his civilization in order.

It will also be a romance book (not really my regular style, but I thought I'd change it up a bit). Plot suggestions and story line ideas are accepted, as most of this is not set yet, and I am open to suggestions.

Backstory (Not necessary, and keep in mind that it may be tweaked or changed to fit the plot): Michael lived through a rough childhood, his mother would commonly abuse him until she died giving birth to his sisters who died shortly after because of a unhealthy environment. His father and him are very close, until one day he just left because he thought Michael was ready for the real world. (It’s shortened lmao)

Backstory (Not necessary, and keep in mind that it may be tweaked or changed to fit the plot): She grew up in a normal family, in a seemingly normal neighborhood, but she was the strange one. She often didn't talk to others, which her father started to force her to be a different person so they could continue to be normal, but let's just say that didn't work out very good. She completely locked herself in her room, where she'd socialize on the internet, gaining many friends, and a possibly crush.

Backstory (Not necessary, and keep in mind that it may be tweaked or changed to fit the plot): Jason never wanted to be a criminal. He just wanted a decent meal to eat for once. One day, he couldn't take it. He stole food from a farmer, which was a serious crime in that civilization. He was caught and reported to the authorities. Jason was then condemned to prison for twenty years, but he escaped. Now he holds a grudge against the dictator, and anyone who works for her.

Backstory (Not necessary, and keep in mind that it may be tweaked or changed to fit the plot): An orphaned child, her father in prison for manslaughter against her mother. This is the reason why she has secret anxiety for most things.
Extra (Nothing OP, preferably no powers, but small power maybe for main character's friend and sister): Is Dark Magic okay for a power? I hope so.
