So recently, a lot of my threads have been locked and I want you to STOP IT! All of these people have great ideas. Especially in the stories. Many people are doing tryouts and it is very annoying if you lock the thread, then they will post another one. This causes repeated stuff. That is NOT good.

The reason why I made this is because it is very annoying for staff members to lock threads. It makes no sense. Especially when the lock it because "arguing" It is not fair. Some of the stuff they lock because of arguing isn't even arguing! I'm going to stop there because there is already a post on that and here is the link https://mcpz.net/threads/stop-locking-threads-for-arguments.50738/ anyways that's all for this.

What I am trying to say is that it is not fair for people to lock threads for no reason. That happened to me once and it is NOT fun.

This has happened many times on forums. For example if you go to stories then click stories. Find one that says KawaiiWifi Survivor Tryouts you will see that it is locked. Guess what? A staff did it. I didn't even have the right to edit the post.

I am open for your opinion. I will listen to you and edit this as it goes. Please appreciate the thought and effort that went into this. I trust you guys to listen to this so I would appreciate it if no arguing. It would lock up this thread too.

Staff don’t manually lock those threads, the forums does that automatically after 2 weeks to prevent people from being punished for necro posting.

Threads are locked after two weeks on most forums because otherwise threads can stay "alive" when they shouldn't be. This is an automatic process and I don't see the point in removing it. -1

Nashi is correct, threads get locked for "Necro Posting", so old threads don't make a reappearence.

If I recall correctly, I've been told by staff in the past that suggestion threads don't get automatically locked after two weeks, but they may have been wrong or that could have been changed. Threads in other categories are auto-locked after two weeks to prevent necro posting. You can bump threads, but the rules do state not to bump threads after two weeks of inactivity.

(Also, hey, that's my thread you're linking to. c: thanks for the publicity)

Yeah, that’s correct, threads in certain sections don’t automatically lock for some reason or another.

no it doesn't lol because half the forums it literally doesn't happen

It’s in place for most of the forums, I’m not sure the reason that it’s not on all of them but I’m pretty sure it’s intended to be.

Is this the thread you were talking about? (https://mcpz.net/threads/survivor-mcpz-addition.50276/) If it is, a staff member didn't lock it. It was automatically locked because no one replied in two weeks. If a staff member locks it, they will reply and say so.

I feel like they should make the system better. People shouldn’t be warned for necro-posting because the system worked right.

If your thread gets locked to avoid getting punished for necro-posting, you should be able to create a new thread for it. I’ve done it before in arts and graphics, and I know some who have re-made story threads.

TRUE i got warned for posts i made 2 weeks ago because i apparently necroposted

The only reason that the rule exists (at least to my knowledge) is so that old and cold threads aren't bumped up as stated in the photo Nashi posted. I think the system should change so that when no messages have been posted on a thread in two weeks, it's position doesn't change and if someone replies to it, it won't get bumped.

Yes, you have a great idea. I would love to see this made... however if you do this thread would NOT be needed, this may be cliché but… @Cat can I please lock this?

Thread has been locked as requested.
