We were off like a shot. Out the back door in the blink of an eye, sprinting speedy as a school of sailfish. We had to keep going. We didn't have options anymore. I didn't have to look behind me to know that the Royal Guard was hot on our trail. The wind whipped through my face, making it so that I couldn't see in front of me. We soared past tree after tree, into the depths of the forest, and still, we did not lose them
I'm not sure how far we ran. Long enough for the sun to rise from its sleep, and for the sky to become the blend of crimson, orange and yellow I usually revelled in. I detested it now, it ruined any chance of hiding from the Guards. Adrenaline was all that was keeping us going, and that could only last so long. I could feel my legs aching, begging for rest.
I ran as fast as my feet would carry me, we all did, but it wouldn't be enough. The Guards continued on, years of training driving them forward. They didn't look remotely tired, and they were catching up. I willed myself to go on, but I was already slowing. Aza's energy was dwindling, Laurel's a slow runner, and Casper's leg wouldn't endure much more strain.
We looked at each other in hopelessness. And then we knew. I don't know how. Maybe the anguish on our faces made us yearn for a solution. None of us liked it, but we all knew it was our only hope.
One of us had to die.

Okay, I know I said that the chapters will be very long, and they will be. The prologue is an exception, as all prologues are shorter than actual chapters. One I post chapter one tomorrow it will be really long! xD
I don't really have any followers/comments on the mysterious website with the orange W, so please tell me what you think of the story!
