Hello, everyone! I am fairly new to the community, though I've been on MCPZ for around 2 years. Over the years of being on MCPZ, I have noticed that spectating Murder games is quite inconvenient as you have to constantly follow people.

My suggestion is this: create a feature so you can spectate within a person and see their POV. For example, this is done on a big server by right-clicking a player.

I feel this is a great feature to add as it would allow players to see exactly what the murderer sees or what other players see. It additionally allows players to not have to follow players around the map, allowing them to chat with other spectators or just watch the match play out.

This is a fairly simple suggestion, so I do not feel there is more to add. Please add feedback as to whether you think this should be added and why.

How would this help the server?

In murder I don't see a real reason why we should be able to be in the pov but it sounds cool, but difficult to do, for a future add on it sounds amazing. But I'll stay neutral until I hear more feedback from other people.

It wouldn't quite benefit the server in any way. It'd just be a nice addition for the reasons I stated above. It wouldn't really benefit the server in any particular way, similar to a cosmetic addition.

As for difficult to do, not really. I'm not going to get into major detail as to how the process of this can be done, but there are a few API classes that can assist with this over at the JavaDocs. Specifically, for the right clicking, PlayerInteractEntityEvent and for the player that is moving, you can get their velocity and direction they are looking at with PlayerVelocityEvent and player.getEyeLocation().getDirection() respectively.

Staying neutral is 100% acceptable, I just believe it'd be a nice addition. :)

This is already possible in default minecraft's spectator mode (/gamemode 3) so I don't really see how this would be too difficult. I like the idea. It's not necessary, but it's fun.

Oh yea, completely forgot about spectator mode. And, yea. Not necessary at all.

I just meant it shouldn't be impossible. I'm in support of this suggestion.

I think I know where you got the idea from, but this would be extremely buggy and laggy, and there is really no benefit from it. Once the devs have finished with more important issues, such as finishing Party Games and actually doing something that will help the network maybe then it could be added. Definite no from me right now.

?

I said how it can be done by providing some links.

And, in my opinion, just because it shouldn't be implemented now doesn't mean it should be a no. While there may be no direct benefit, it is still a decent addition for the future.

I don’t necessarily think it’d be buggy, and if it is for a player itself, then simply don’t use it.

My personal benefit from this, quite frankly it’s enjoyable, and a hands free spectating mode.

To also speak about the developers and their work load, if they decide to implement it for a future update that’s them. I don’t necessarily think we should speak for them.

Overall, I like the idea. It’s a unique cosmetic and I’d like to see this implemented. I don’t see a negative view point on this.

+1

I agree with Aminuh, I've used something that is very similar to this on another server and it wasn't buggy at all for me. It made everything very easy, simple, and enjoyable to spectate people.

This is a really great feature and I'd love to see this implemented!

(By the way, the Devs are rather busy right now with getting things implemented, but that doesn't mean that they can't, eventually, implement this as well.)

this could help catching hackers, I was wrongfully banned onceand my appeal was rejected... but I contacted the guy to explain in exact utter detail I didn't cheat and how exactly I shot em. he was relentless but my last words were look at it from my point of view and fortunatly I was unbanned and leaves me with a bitter taste for mods and helpers.

moral of the story I was unbanned because I was looked at in 1st person point of view unless my conspiracy theories are indeed correct and it was all a ploy but yea ok I love you peoples :). Aswell the idea brings more excitement and thrill to the game instead of a small inclosed area not a person's view that gives suspence and unknown unknowns. Maybe not now yet later would be nice to have the option.

Just a suggestion since this whole thing is changing maybe the murderer's name can not shown? To help reduce ghosting?

So, fun story: A big servers's POV helps me record and catch hackers for reports, and it was ALSO what got me unbanned as someone happened to record spectating me. So, this does have a positive result in terms of moderation.

A suggestion doesn't have to help the server directly! This is for players who like to follow the murderer, or their friend. I myself find it quite annoying having to follow them everywhere. I think this'll be a great idea. And it really isn't that hard to implement. It's so easy, I could do it (I know, because I've done it ;))!

On the servers that have it it isn't buggy or laggy in any sort of way, plus small things help just as much.
