Side Mouse Buttons Are They Allowed?

So, I have a mouse with two side buttons, both of them are set to the 'Z' key, and in Minecraft it zooms when I use Optifine. (I only use Optifine and Shaders for Minecraft, No Minecraft Mods) I just was wondering if the Side Mouse Buttons for the zoom feature from Optifine is allowed, if not I can simply deactivate the side button.

I mean, some mouses have side buttons can have advantages in the settings, for my settings it's only set to a key on my keyboard.

I do not see how side buttons could give you an advantage in any way, I have side buttons on my mouse and I do not believe it could give me an advantage in any way as it's basically just more buttons. Think of it like this; I don't use side buttons, Just like most players don't use the comma key, Its basically just another button which is closer to where your hands are.
