you're gonna be learning about the places around your school and also the types of students and stuff!!!1

First, let's actually start with the types of schools.
학교 (hak-gyo) generally means School.
중학교 (joong-hak-gyo) is a Middle School.
대학교 (dae-hak-gyo) is a University.
초등학교 (cho-deung-hak-gyo) is a Preschool.
고등학교 (go-deung-hak-gyo) is a Highschool.

Here are the types of students!
학생 (hak-seng) just means Student.
중학생 (joong-hak-seng) means Middle School Student.
대학생 (dae-hak-seng) means University Student.
초등학생 (cho-deung-hak-seng) means Preschooler.
고등학생 (goh-deung-hak-seng) means Highschool Student.

TEACHERS AND OTHER PEOPLE AT SCHOOL!!
교사 (gyo-sa) means teacher, but when you are talking to the teacher, refer to them as 선생님 (sun-seng-neem).
교장 (gyo-jang) means principal, but when talking to them, refer to them as 교장 선생님 (gyo-jang sun-seng-neem).
교수 (gyo-soo) means professor.

There are other words for students, such as:
말썽꾸러기 (mal-ssung-ggu-roh-gi) is a Troublemaker.

To say a 'school year' (i.e your grade), take a Sino-Korean number and add '학년 (hak-nyun). Remember the Sino-Korean numbers? If you don't, then click here.

For example, grade 1 would be 일학년 (il-hak-nyun)
If you wanted to say 'University 2nd Grade', it would be 대학교 이학년 (dae-hak-gyo ee-hak-nyun).
If you wanted to say 'Highschool 1st Grade', it would be 고등학교 일학년 (go-deung-hak-gyo il-hak-nyun)

Let's learn some places around the school!
도서관 (do-suh-kwan) Library
놀이터 (no-ri-tuh) Playground
교실 (gyo-sheel) Classroom
실험실 (shee-rum-sheel) Lab/Laboratory
체육관 (che-yoo-kkwan) Gym/Sports Hall
화장실 (hwa-jang-sheel) Bathroom/Restroom

Also, let's talk about School Work.
숙제 (sook-jeh) Homework
시험 (shee-hom) Exam/Test/Paper

Now, we can make some sentences!

When is the test?
시험은 있을 때?
[shee-ho-meun ees-seul ttae?]

I forgot my homework at school! (informal)
학교에 숙제를 잊었어!
[hak-gyo-e sook-je-rul ee-juss-uh]

I am going to the _____.
_____에 가고 있어요.
[_____-e ga-go ees-suh-yo]

Teacher, I have a question!
선생님, 질문 있어요!
[sun-seng-neem, jeel-mun ees-suh-yo]

I am going to study hard. (informal)
열심히 공부할 거야.
[yul-shee-mee gong-boo-hal guh-ya]

THERE'S A TEST TODAY? (informal)
오늘 시험이야??
[oh-neul shee-hum-ee-ya??]

Let's also learn some school subjects! Subject is 과목 (kwa-mok)

수학 (soo-hak) Mathematics
영어 (yung-uh) English
음악 (eum-ak) Music
미술 (mee-sool) Art
역사 (yuk-sa) History
지리 (jee-ree) Geography
과학 (kwa-hak) Science

생물 (seng-mool) Biology
물리 (mool-lee) Physics
체육 (che-yook) P.E

Now you can say the subject that you're best at! (and worst at but the only people who will ask that is your parents)

I'm really good at _____.
저는 _____에 진짜 좋아요.
[juh-neun _____-e jeen-jja jo-a-yo]

I like _____.

[_____ jo-a-he-yo]

What's your favourite subject? (literally 'What are your particularly good subjects?')
