You know how people say that punishments are too harsh, and the appeal system is broken? Well, calming down punishments already got denied, so I'm suggesting we revamp the appeal system. This way, we can still have the rule-breakers get punished, but the innocent people can get their punishment revoked. However...

The appeal system might not need fixing. So, in order to find out if the appeal system is actually broken, I suggest the staff team conduct a survey, an anonymous one so that the people don't get exposed if we get hacked (I'm not saying we would though). There will of course be measures to detect the people who are faking getting denied for no reason/accepted. After the survey has been completed, the staff team will put the data into a statistic, and then show us the statistic if it says that appeals are working fine.

Now, say the statistic says that appeals AREN'T working fine. Then here are a couple of ideas to make our appeal system better:
1. Scale how much proof you need depending on punishment type and punishment severity.
For example: Basically anything chat related, 1 screenshot that has been proved to be non-edited, Hacking:, video of hacker that contains them doing the hack, Greifing: Video of greifer/Staff's thing (idk what it's called) saying that the player destroyed these blocks, ect.
2. Allow players to provide counter-evidence
This will also be on a scale, but probably on a lesser extent. For example, anything chat related, evidence that the shots were photoshopped, hacking/greifing, video of the same gameplay session from the player's perspective without using f2 (for hacking), ect.

That about finishes the thread up, I have said everything I wanted to say, so goodbye. (That was a very unprofessional ending)

So um... Would players just have to be recording themselves playing constantly?
Sorry I'm just wondering :/

Well maybe, I wouldn't know how to provide counter-evidence otherwise... so probably, unless they can't
Or just sc whenever they got warned/muted (for chat offenses)

Some say PZ is too strict and sadly, it kind of is a bit true not gonna lie. I don’t know how to feel about this.

The main reason why appeals are denied most of the time. Is because the staff have the evidence to back it up. Lets say someone just went on a rampage of swearing but claim they did nothing wrong. Staff don't warn/mute/ban without evidence. But when they do miss-warn/mute/ban and they user does appeal it does get accepted. (I would know as I miss-warned someone when I was staff and that was 100% my fault).
Also staff have guidelines they need to follow for certain offences. Some of them are obvious (Like hacking) but some of them can differ (Like chat flood and swearing)

I’d like to point out as well, if you believe we missed something, when responding to an appeal- you can pm us on forums or discord. We’re not going to get mad at you, we will not insult you and we will try our absoloute best not to ignore you. Of course, some staff may miss PMs, if they’re busy. If that is the case, please alert a leadership member or another staff member.
We will listen to what you have to say. If we realize what had happened was a complete and utter mistake- we will remove or shorten your punishment. If we punish players without proof, it is mandatory we remove it, if you Appeal. Otherwise, it’d not be fair to the player. We are in no way permitted to punish a player without reason, and if we’re caught doing so, we will face severe consequences.
Players are 100% able to send counter evidence, in appeal situations- if they have some. But not everyone will have a recording software or a site where they can upload their images to. It is also very likely the player was not expecting a punishment in the moment, and may not have gained counter-evidence. Although, if players have this counter evidence, they may send it. The staff will overview it and if we realize your punishment was mistaken- we will remove/shorten it.
