Suggestion:
My suggestion is to also release the original (or most recent before v2) version of murder to play alongside Murder v2. Therefore giving players the option whether or not they'd like to play classic murder, or the new, updated murder.

I know a lot of work would have to be put into this, but I genuinely think it would benefit the server.

Why?

Murder is what brought me to PartyZone, and as much as I love change, Murder v2 just doesn't feel like murder anymore. I understand the purpose of v2 is to start fresh and allow you to edit the code easier and also bring in more players, but this concept has the potential to drive away old players who prefer the original version. Presenting players with the option to play both old and new murder will hopefully satisfy both generations of players and give them the option to play both.

Pros
Could bring back old players, and new players while satisfying them by giving them a choice.

Gives variety to the network, having more than just 2 available game modes.

Cons
Releasing both versions could potentially cause one version to rise in popularity leaving the other version with fewer players.

Statistics between versions would have to be either conjoined or separated which could be very complicated to do and could cause backlash from players.

The "original" murder would need some changes to adapt to the party points system with cosmetics and such. Unless they opt to change that. (Which also may not be possible due to the code.)

This suggestion will most likely have mixed reviews, but I wanted to get my idea out there to see how everyone else feels about the subject. My idea is not set in stone, and if you have any other suggestions to improve this, please feel free to share. I also wanted to thank the developers for their hard work that is shown with the release of v2. I will admit I'm not a huge fan of everything included with v2, but I appreciate the work they've put into PartyZone and making this network a better place. It's sad to see the decrease in players, and I am making this suggestion with the sole interest in improving PZ and bringing in more players.

Not that I'm opposed to it, but the new murder has been said time and time again that it has bugs and tweaks that need to be worked out. I suggest waiting to see the "full" release when it comes out. The game has some adjusting to do such as the first time minecraft was brought into development.

Secondly this has potential to divide the player base that we do not have. Such incident is familiar with the massacre game.

Murder v1 had many issues that prompted the update outside of the general initiative to get some fresh code out/make everything a bit more clean for devs to work with.

Especially near the end of it's life cycle, Murder v1 grew unbearably unstable over time with crashes on a regular basis. having to track down every issue for an outdated minigame of which was not developed with much expansion in mind was hindering the dev team. A bug in v1 will take significantly longer to fix than a bug in v2, which can be devastating if the bug is particularly annoying or game breaking

I myself understand the appeal of murder v1 and having it around, when it was stable and working fine I may have completely agreed with you, but the issues raised with it sticking around in it's state greatly outweigh it's benefits.

In order to run murder v1 we would require to run v1 code and that's not compatible with v2 systems. So we would need to make an entire network to support murder v1, which we probably have the code for but seems a very bad way to manage our resources. This isn't really feasible but if you have an issue with how murder feels, let us know we are here to improve it and with v2 it takes us much less time to fix stuff than it did in v1.

Thank you for your response, had I known how difficult it would be to do I wouldn't have made the suggestion. I have a few suggestions about murder changes, but I'll include that in a separate thread at a later time. Thanks for the hard work you've done for PZ.

i do prefer v1, it was original and authentic.. but changes are changes
