Okay, so I think that it has become apparent to everyone at this point that these 'original' games clearly aren't working. If you think about it, you wouldn't get attracted to a server by a game that you've never heard of before. Most likely, you would go to a server because it hosts a particular game that you enjoy. Small games like splatter and survival games clearly aren't attracting many players at all, and disagree with me? Just check the amount of players on there. Earlier, I checked, and it wasn't too great. Every minigame had 0 players apart from Murder and Creative, 2 big games. Coincidence? I think not. Party Zone needs big games that are already popular and would attract people to the server and bring in more players. I'm talking about games like Bedwars, Skywars (I know we already has this, but we brought back SG so why cant we bring back this?) and games like these. I know of other servers that were beginning to hit rock bottom, but as soon as they scrapped the idea of original games, and moved onto adding 'already popular' games, loads of players were brought in. I mean, come on Party Zone. This idea has been suggested enough times, so why can't this be implemented? I don't think there is much to say other than this. If Party Zone wants more players, then you need to try new things and see what happens.

Agreed. As its such a hit on other servers, maybe add it as a beta to see if players on mcpz enjoy it. If so, release it.

If it were released and nothing happens there is no saving this server

but the thing is they want it to have its own sort of partyzone feeling to it and make it unique which they havent been too successful with as from what i have seen lol

This might work, if people actually knew these games ever existed on PartyZone. Right now the only reason the new games aren’t being played is because they were never advertised to the public. Only to the people already in PartyZone.

But I’d be down for a SkyWars return. ;)

Exactly, and they even said it themselves, the new games aren't working. They even said that they would consider this, and with amount of players suggesting this on the forums they are bound to actually implement this sooner or later :D

this is accurate
But how do you know that if it hasn't even been attempted. I think you should at least try and add some new (and more popular) games to the network and see what happens. I mean, you're not going to know the outcome unless you try.

Yeah, and at least try to advertise that it's "custom".

Yeah, this is all accurate. I've tried to suggest new minigames, but they've been shot down. If we're going to implement unoriginal games, we should change it a bit, but I'm in full support of doing so.

I agree with you, these so called 'original' games and new mini-games aren't cutting it out. I feel like we need some kind of voting system instead of a 'popular player' such as, a staff member, or a high ranked player with lots of friends to start a party and play one mini-game a few times then leave. If we had a voting system it would make the current player happier and maybe would attract more players. One thought that has bounced around my mind is the staff members. Remember when people would be so excited when a certain staff member came on, for example Dizzeh or MineInprogress or Emohh(these were previous names) but stuff happened and they resigned, got demoted, or took a break. I don't blame them, they're busy but I think Party Zone should add to the Staff Application. I've tried to apply and got rejected but I think they should add a section saying like "How would you 'entertain' or communicate with players' or something like that. I haven't played a single one of these mini-games once because of how dead they are. Now Downgrade is barely being played which used to be really popular. I know that this server isn't the most popular but it still does have a good amount of players. I've seen a decrease in players over time and it's sad, but I think the old way the server was, like the lobby, the games, the way games were run, etc., were just better in general. Even during Beta stages, no one plays it and I've seen that. I think instead of just the staff members of the build team or whoever is doing this by themselves, I think they should have an outside perspective. I can't relate to the staff, since I'm not one but I tried.

I know this is super long and frustrating and I'm sorry xD

The philosophy behind the original idea is flawed. Sure we could go down the route since these new games aren't doing well (which is really unfortunate because they really are good games.) But back when it was launched, murder wasn't big at all. It wasn't until a bunch of huge youtubers came in that made it big. But if you take a look around, there isn't much left in that scheme of things. I don't think without some serious thought and possibly funding into advertising, there is no saving the place. This is a reality I would love to prevent.

But here is my true question, how would adding bedwars really help?

A huge server already has bedwars well covered, and while that can't stop the devs from making bedwars, why would it attract players? Why would members of the large server slowly transfer over to our server because we have the same game mode? Well I can think of reasons why, namely said big server has a toxic community and not everyone likes that, but how would they know a less toxic variant exists?

It honestly may not be a bad idea, but we need more ideas on how to get the word out above anything else.

We could make the best game mode/game mode variant in the world, but if no one knows about it, does it really matter?

Admittedly you have a point at the end. You and AnEmerald have both talked about how Murder was advertised and brought in lots of players to the server. But the real question is, how did Players discover murder in the first place? How did big youtubers discover Murder? These are the questions that we should be asking. The long-time players on the network would know as well as the long-time Admins. So however players discovered Murder, shouldn't we be doing that again to get our newer games out there?

Part of the "discovery" phase is due to advertising. That's something that we need to pull out of the ashes. Without advertising, the server's player income is completely from word of mouth. Yes, YouTube counts as an advertising platform, and that's one of the reasons Murder became so big.

The YouTubers were asked to play on the server, either by friends, or by the staff members/owners. ( Check Gamer's response in this thread - https://mcpz.net/threads/server-advertising.42786/page-2 )

The youtubers we had before weren't magically acquired by us, they were brought by our friends who wanted them to play here. A couple we messaged asking nicely and a bunch came on their own and brought other youtubers with them.

That is a true and really good statement, but we can't just keep pulling youtuber's out of the sky telling them to help us with the server. Long story short the server is dying and there's really nothing we can do about it. We try and try all of these things but it's not working. We went from build battle every weekend to every other week, that has to play a part in the server 'dying'. The main page on the forums hasn't been updated since August 11th, over two months ago, which means nothing's happening so far that we know of, there's nothing to be excited for.

The server isn't dying. We are currently reflecting last year's player counts around this time. Just wait until Summer, we'll get more players. BUT the server has in fact flattened with player counts. We're taking in just about as many players as we are losing.

Also, nobody said we can just pull YouTubers out of nowhere, (not sure where you got that) I was correcting their statement and informing them of the reality of what happened. The YouTubers decide whether or not to join the server at all, let alone record on PZ. BUT how they discover the servers is our choice. We can ask people to tell their YouTuber friends about PZ and maybe they will join the server.

I don't know where you got the thought where the server isn't dying. The server is dying. On weekends during the school year last year there were over 1,000 players on and during the summer more. On the weekends now there a about 300 or if we're lucky 400. Also we are not taking in as many players as we had. It's because of the advertising, the less popular youtubers going on the server the less players, because people would like to play with their favorite youtuber and on MC that's pretty easy.

I guess I kinda forgot about that. :p But the statement:
there's really nothing we can do about it.
is not true. We can do lots of things. Just go check my previously linked thread to see some of those things we can do.

And this statement:
because people would like to play with their favorite youtuber and on MC that's pretty easy.
is correct. But all we need to do is show these YouTubers that this server is being updated with new games all the time. (I know the last game came out two months ago, but SG is almost fully released... at least it has a home in the lobby now.)

Anyways, I think all we really need to do is advertise. Advertise, advertise, advertise.
