General Profiles.

So, the following suggestions are well.. suggestions. You are welcome to give me positive/negative feedback!
Note: I have no idea if these suggestions are possible, because I don't know if the forums' software is capable of doing it.

1. Edit the colours in Preferences:

Now, the current colours available are:

  • Red
  • Black
  • Dark Green
  • Lilac
  • Silver
  • Peanut
  • Peach
  • Navy
  • Orange
  • Mint
  • Baby Blue
  • Plum
  • Ivory
  • Purple
  • Bloo

This suggestion is limit the colours. What I mean by that is I think we should have the main colours, which are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple (more can be added like gray, black or pink etc.) and have them as the preferences' options. Once a player chooses a colour let's say, red, a message will pop up saying:

"Pick a shade."​

◻ Light Red ◻ Red ◻Dark Red
​

This would allow players to be more in control of their profiles and make their pages more pleasing.

2. Previews before updating banner, profile picture etc.

Now, I usually get frustrated when I'm updating my profile picture/banner and when it appears, it's not what I hoped it would've looked like, because it's usually stretched etc. So, I thought, when you are changing your picture/banner a picture will pop up showing a preview of what it'll look like:

Now of course the picture you choose will be shown where the blue blocks are but you get the point.

3. BB-Code for comments on profiles.

I'm not sure 100% certain of this suggestion, but I think it would be cool to write messages on other players' profiles using bold, italic and/or underlined text. It would spice things up a bit.

4. Achievements/Badges.

This suggestion isn't needed but I think it would be cool if players get to collect badges to post on their profile pages and share their achievements with their friends. Some ideas for badges would be like:
-Have an account that's 1 year old!
-Have more than 100 followers!
-Win a build battle!
etc.

A better example would be:
-Commented on more than 50 threads!

I'm not sure how to fully describe the idea but yeah. Once a player has achieved a badge, it will appear in their "Badge Collection" section.

I'm not sure if XenForo supports this sort of stuff, but if it does that'd be great.
For the other suggestions, like you said they're not needed but they'd be cool to have. +1

I do like the idea though, and perhaps we could make it so people cannot use certain colors. And a message would pop up saying: “Uh oh! This color is not available, we want people to be able to read messages on your profile.”

I like all of these ideas! I also like the addition by @Emo. Previews are an especially good idea.

Thanks for the link by the way - Sean technically confirmed that it's possible to do so, just an issue with having unreadable colours set. I'm sure it'd be possible to blacklist certain colours // replace them with another colour if chosen, if not then too bad. ;n;

I think this would be pretty neat to have +1

However I agree with Emo, instead of the selecting red and having the red style options, we can have the hexadecimal colour circle pallet so it's more custom to us. This was a great suggestion!
