Flash to the forward - She opened her eyes. She blinked; but she saw nothing at all. All she saw was almost endless pitch black. She called out; she screamed, but nobody came to her rescue.
Present - BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Alice's daunting alarm screeched as she pulled back her duvet. Opening her eyes, she pulled her bleached-blonde hair out from her t-shirt and walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Tiredly, she opened their deluxe double-doored fridge and pulled out her vegan smoothie. Flipping her hair over her shoulder, she slouched down at the breakfast bar and sipped her drink whilst scrolling through her Instagram feed. Hurriedly, she ran back upstairs to glam herself up for the schoolday ahead.
“What kind of look am I feeling today?” she queried, as she picked out a navy blue bomber with hearts and stars stitched all over it, a cream v-necked croptop and a pair of jean shorts. Throwing her hair up into a stylish ponytail, she grabbed her school backpack and headed out of the door. Pulling out the bedazzled keys to her tiny convertible car, Alice skipped over to her white Mini Cooper and hopped inside. Although this day seemed normal then, it was soon to take a twist...
“Jesse!” she yelled obnoxiously as she pulled up to the school yard. Her friend, who was mildly intimidated by her, smiled meekly in her direction as Alice marched over, grinning and giggling.
“Guess what?” whispered Alice, pulling out her phone.
“Uh what?” queried Jesse, looking confused.
“So, some girls I know were asking if I wanted to prank those nerdy freaks over there,” she pointed over at a bunch of smling girls with her glimmering acrylic nail,”and of course, I said yes, so I was wondering if you’d want to help me?” snickered Alice.
“Alice, you know I don’t like doing things like that..” Jesse went quiet for a moment.
“Oh so what, boo hoo, it’ll be so fun, come on!” wailed Alice
“I said NO Alice.”
“What did you just say, piggy?” muttered Alice.
“N-nothing,” said Jesse, startled, “I didn’t say anything..”
“Don’t you ever say no to me, piggy, or you’ll get what’s coming to you.” she threw Jesse backwards and stormed off to a small clique of snooty girls. DING! Looking down at her iPhone, Alice noticed a new message from a withheld number.
“Or maybe you’ll get what’s coming to you, let’s see, Queen Bee. xo”
Now Alice was the one scared to death...
