Okay, so I actually think this is going to be a fairly controversial topic amongst everyone in PartyZone. I get that.

Some creative servers I played on in the past allowed players to merge their adjacent plots. This simply replaced the road with grass between the plots so players could have more room to build (or so adjacent plots synchronized better). It made more space for Roleplays and large builds in general. This also allows an easier way to keep track of all the players in one larger plot zone if they're merged. I think this could be implemented into PartyZone, BUT there would need to be some limitations.
  • Plots cannot be merged into anything larger than a 2x2 square. This prevents colossal plots from filling things up.
  • Players cannot merge their plots with another player's plot. This prevents issues with the code and arguments between players.
  • Players can only make one 2x2 square. This cuts down on the number of massive plots made by ELITEs and ELITE+s (I don't have anything against you guys, but you get a TON of plots).
Then there's just some other housekeeping information:
  • If a person, say a VIP with 4 plots, merges all of his/hers into a 2x2 square, then they can just use /plot home and it will take them to the entrance of their first registered plot.
  • If a person wishes to clear a specific part of a merged plot, they must separate the plots and clear that part individually. Otherwise, they can clear the entire merged plot all at once.
  • WorldEdit can still be used on merged plots.
  • Players can still give build permissions to other players on merged plots.
  • Players can separate their merged plots at any time. (Can be changed to a timelock?)
Obviously, the information in the bullets can be changed or removed by the administration team if necessary.

That's all I've got. Thanks for reading this! Let me know what you think below. Use the "Should Implement" or "Don't Implement" ratings so the staff team can evaluate the suggestion.

On a creative server I used to play on just let allowed us to edit the road with a command like "/plot roadaccess True" and then we could edit our halves of the road per plot.

This was suggested a while ago, and I don't think this would be a good idea considering what Morphic stated on the previous thread;
"Firstly, we dont use the PlotMe plugin, we made a custom plot plugin when Creative moved to 1.8 because PlotMe wasnt good enough for our needs. Secondly this means we would need to code in /plot merge. Thirdly when ever you would clear any plot it would mean that we would need to check the roads around the plots and if they are joined the roads would need to be resinstated, which might cause an issue since we need to check all four roads around a plot, what if another player has a merged plot. It would be a pain to code a pain to implement and it really is not needed, over the past few years there have only been a handful of people that have asked for this, even when it was allowed. Fourthly (if thats a word lol) it would then require giving permissions to people to build on roads and how do you decided which side of the road belongs to whom? All in all its a real mess. Highly doubt it will happen."

About clearing plots, the road would just re-appear where it used to be. I don't see why that's an issue.

Regarding your question about deciding sides of the road... I don't understand why that's a question. It deletes the road between two adjacent plots, and one player must own both of them. I thought I made that clear above.

This is a side question, but why don't we use /plotme anymore? What do we need that it doesn't have?

So can someone explain to me why literally all of my suggestions are supported by players and then shot down by staff because they'd actually have to code in what I'm suggesting?

Because staff need to find problems about suggestions, just in case there was a real problem with a certain part that we dont know.
I understand that, but using the excuse "It'd be too hard to code" doesn't seem valid to me. They're never going to get better if they don't take challenges as they come. We're also never going to expand and bring new players in with interesting features if they don't code things. (I know, plot merging won't attract more people to the server. I get that.)

As far as I can see our plugin isn't as good as plotme.

Right? I don't understand why we don't use /plotme. What's the difference between ours and /plotme? (Aside from plot merging, *ahem*) They say it's not good enough for our needs, but what are those needs? What does our plugin have that /plotme doesn't?

True

I also think this would make those Role-play owners who have 10 plot rp's etc happier as they could keep the players in the plot zones!

+1 given this is a great idea, I don't agree with what Emohh said though

From what I can remember, Unstitched said on a suggestion once to "not worry about how hard it is to code"

But I really like this idea, as not only does it help role plays but it helps people like me who like to build have more space to build on, rather than on selerate plots and then having a road in the way.

Would this just be for your plots only? Because it'd be nice if you could do it with a friends plot? Like you'd do /plot merge Maxxx_,Pqndar Then the player would have to accept it
And if the owner wanted the plot cleared it'd ask [Player] Would like to clear the plot [Accept] [Deny] And both of u need to agree to make it happen :)

No. Greifing, arguments, so many things could go wrong. How would it work if one player wanted to leave the plot and couldn't because their friend didn't want to? What would happen if these friends weren't actually friends and one of them grieved the other?

Now you say that, Bad idea for a friends plot

Bump.

Also this is getting a decent number of "Should Implements" <3

I really do hope party zone takes the time to implement this. It would be pretty useful.
