Question
This is more of a complaint, which everybody will most likely agree with.
A friend of mine got banned for posting the Teletubbies theme song for "advertising".
The rule that prevents advertising was implemented to PREVENT people from being drawn away from Partyzone. In no way in hell will the Teletubbies draw people away from the server, so why punish people for advertising when Teletubbies don't draw people away from a block game server.
I think the advertising rule meant things like server names and IP addresses, since when does the Teletubbies theme song send someone to a rip off version of murder (you all know what server I'm talking about).
I got warned for putting Pingu videos a while back, which kinda annoyed me. Like I understand that you want videos that don't draw people away from the community, but come on, seriously?
Videos are only allowed "if they contain MCPZ content", yet I've seen people GET PERMISSION FROM MODERATORS to have the videos when they AREN'T MCPZ content, so I call bias on it tbh.

My complaint is that you need to sort out your dumb "advertising" rule and fix it.

I'm going to put this in a few points so I'll label them with this ordered list:
  1. Posting YouTube videos is not allowed because it can be used to advertise somebody's YouTube account for the purpose of gaining views, subscribers and likes. Our network is not an advertising hub and we really don't want it to be. Also, we cannot verify whether a person owns the YouTube account or not so it is just prohibited in general.
  2. You may post content which is authorized as acceptable by a member of our moderation team. This is and always has been clearly defined in the Advertising section of our rules, which you can find here: https://mcpz.net/threads/partyzone-minecraft-server-rules.6724/
  3. It's not the content we're concerned about in regards to advertising. I understand that the content may have been a TV programme and the warning was not in regards to the content itself, it is because if we make an exception for posting this content without permission then we would have to make it for everyone. This creates unnecessary amounts of work for our moderation team having to watch through every YouTube video sent on MCPZ.
  4. MCPZ content is an exception to this because it promotes MCPZ. Staff do check the content to see if it is acceptable as MCPZ related content before issuing a warning. Posting inappropriate links holds more serious punishments than advertising.
  5. If you believe a punishment is wrong, please file a warning appeal via our appeals section: https://mcpz.net/applicationform/punishment-appeal.5/form
If you have any questions or concerns about anything I've stated above, feel free to private message me via the forums. Our rules are always subject to change so if you are reading this then I warn you it may have become out-of-date since I sent it. Refer to the rules stated above for an up to date copy.
