I have been a member of Party Zone for a little over Four years. I joined the forums August 4th, 2015 (a few months after first joining on Minecraft). I have witnessed, as many others have who have been here as long as me, the growth of PartyZone, the peak, and now, its demise.

From the moment where something begins, it is dying. We have been dying slowly since birth. The universe will eventually end as well, it's just the cycle of life. I haven't directly proposed anything yet, but I want to say this to prove this isn't some troll suggestion (as I have done some troll things in the past). This is a serious suggestion.

It costs money to run a server. It also requires the participation of a strong staff team which branches off into Moderators, Admins, Coders, and it takes up their time. I've been occasionally checking in on the player count for the past few weeks and noticed it's been going down.

I propose we give Party Zone a death date. We decide on a date that PZ will shut down (the Minecraft server, atleast. The forums seem like a much more active place). This will save the costs of running, time of the staff team, and once word gets out, some OG players of the server will come back to enjoy PZ one last time.

I don't expect much agreement with this suggestion, in fact I'm prepared for a lot of hate from many people for it. However, this is my perspective and if people feel like disagreeing with me in the comments, maybe some high ranked staff could even pull out some statistics to prove me wrong or, further my point, then feel free to do so I am open to seeing any statistics not currently open to the public.

This isn't entirely PZ's fault. Minecraft as a whole has been dying slowly. I've just seen this happen to two servers that were once the size of PZ and I think this is atleast worth suggesting. I too enjoyed PZ for many years, I made many friends, and many memories. @ArrayLists @Glowy @iNeedSpeed @Kona @Sheepeh .

Thank you for reading, please leave and constructive feedback below.

AS SUGGESTED BY @TimeLord , the death date could potentially be the 5th Anniversary of PZ.

I enjoy PZ with all my heart but I can also say that Pz and Minecraft are dying all together. With around... 1/7th? of the active users on pz are 1-3 staff members on at a time. Back when I played everyday there were a lot of changes from then until now. Gameplay was defiantly improved based on suggestions and the dev team. But after a while It got really boring and just a repeat of the same game and all the same hackusations (Mainly in Downgrade which I loved). But I think the time when I first saw the falling of Pz was around the Alpha and Beta testing time for Splatter and Arcade games. When those games were released to every non-rank it wasn't played at all due to all the hype dying down of it.

I do believe that Pz will die within 2019 most likely (Unless PZ and Mc gain a huge spike in popularity) and that the server will shut down. I do also believe that there should be one final day where people can log like the OP said. However I think its not gonna happen anytime soon

(Disclaimer: There has been a rule change in PZ recently that states that the mention or discussion of other Minecraft networks, if not used to promote that network or encourage players to play there instead of PZ, is not punishable. The thread can be found here and it was marked implemented by the staff manager, Iruu. In accordance with this new rule adjustment, the following text is meant to be used for informational purposes only, and is not meant to be taken as advertisement. I am not encouraging players to join the following Minecraft servers or to spend more time there than on PZ. If I am, for some reason, mistaken about the meaning of this new rule, I'd really appreciate a staff member sending me a private message explaining what I did wrong and asking me nicely to edit my post instead of punishing me using the same un-helpful format that is always used.)

Unfortunately, I have to agree that the server and the large Minecraft network scene has been dying. Yes, there are a lot of active players, but clearly, they're not playing on large networks like they used to. Look at servers like Mineplex and Hypixel - they used to have dozens of thousands of players on at all times. As I'm writing this, Mineplex has under a thousand players and Hypixel has 15,000. (15k is good, but it used to be so much higher!)

I don't think this is anyone's fault, necessarily - I really do believe that a lot of Minecraft's audience has moved on to other things. It's not just games, either - some people are getting older and busier. Younger generations are supposed to come on to replace the older ones, right? The problem is, a lot of them aren't. Massively popular games like Fortnite are effectively stealing away some of Minecraft's new audience generations. Of course, they can still choose to play both and this rule doesn't apply to everyone. It's just a general trend that I'm seeing.

Minecraft content on YouTube has been slowly dying off, too - channels like DanTDM, who used to be mostly Minecraft gameplay, haven't consistently played the game in a very long time. They've moved on. Another channel, AntVenom, used to be all Minecraft gameplay until he realized that kind of content wasn't sustainable anymore. (AntVenom still creates content about Minecraft, but it has more to do with news, hidden features, and glitches than actual gameplay. Some still find it interesting content, but it doesn't count as traditional Minecraft gameplay.)

Even channels like CaptainSparklez haven't done a lot of content by themselves anymore - for what, a year or two now, CaptainSparklez has only uploaded Minecraft content that is collaborative - he did the TrollCraft series with SSundee and Crainer, and I think the only reason a series like that could survive was because it mashed multiple smaller audiences together. Now, CaptainSparklez does some Minecraft content with X33N, but his channel has moved away from Minecraft more and more over the recent months/years.

There are a lot of factors to this problem, but we've got to realize this problem just might not be fixable. People move on to other things. Younger generations may choose other video games over Minecraft. People like me choose other video games and come back to Minecraft every now and then, but find the server has too little activity these days and leave for a long time again.

Maybe a death date is a good idea. It might get the community back together for a final few days. Let's be honest - Creative is the only part of PZ that's still popular. It's really hard to find a Murder game that has more than a couple of people, and no one seems to play the other minigames anymore. If funds are an issue (and it seems to me funds are an issue after seeing that E++ is going to be a subscription rank), maybe the server should just downsize and only host Creative and Murder. That would save money and wouldn't require as much moderation. Or, the server could shut down and players who still want to play Creative could migrate to another server that has a larger player base and more funds. I don't know for sure - those are just ideas.

Unless Minecraft servers somehow find a way to completely revolutionize the game for everyone, I don't see how networks will go uphill any time soon. Why play a Minecraft recreation of a game when you can play the real thing, which is more fun, performs better, and has more content? The minigame scene on servers has existed for a long time, but it might be meeting its end soon.

If you've made it this far, wow. If you've skipped to the bottom, then the tl;dr is: Yeah, PartyZone is dying. It's not just the management's fault, though - Minecraft networks as a whole seem to be going downhill and I don't personally see any way this can be fixed. Minecraft content on YouTube seems to be going down as well. Younger generations aren't flooding into the server anymore, and our minigames aren't popular. We could downsize to just Creative and Murder to save money, or perhaps we could shut down the server.

I'm not really sure what else to say. Let's keep the discussion going, shall we?

It will die yes, I predict off the patterns early 2019 Murder will have less than 10 people playing it at a time and creative will never get above 50. I think that this death date would bring everyone together one last time. And the end of this is inevitable, so once others accept it they’ll see this and understand.

Everything you said was correct. MC as a whole is dying. This would bring the community back together one last time.
We’re going to war. Point blank period. I’m ready to see what some people say.
No BS yet but hell yeah dude, with ya till the end of the line <3

I really don’t know what to say about this..

For myself I played minecraft for 6? or 5ish years. Recently going offline completely for 3 or couple of months just because its not worth it. Now I play the occasional mod pack on minecraft not really servers. I usually get back to my roots when I was 7 years old alone just playing single player games for hours. minecraft was my first multiplayer game lol.

I joined this server around 2014 sep 19th lol offically 4 years today. Back then it was actually fun and worth it to play. Good chill moderation team such as MineInProgress or the wonderful Booneh. So many more people but now I will say most staff aren't good at their position. Aventasaurus has been here for quiet some time. I remember em messaging me who the murderer was because the murderer wasn't doing their job or afk. Now its not allowed ofcourse but back then it didn't have that child feel to it. Now I litterally check to see if any staff are in ny game to make sure I don't get falsely banned. Main reason why I don't play on here often. I just don't trust the moderation's judgement.

Anywho after my little rant/ interesting stories I do blame partyzone for this. As well I heard a little rumor that the admins were directed not to add content. Minecraft has definitly been falling down of lately yet Partyzone has a little part to play in its decline. I will miss murder but not much else honestly. Other servers to me are just better. Mcpz just doesn't have any good strengths.

A suggestion for the "death" date could be the 5th anniversary. Would be cool.

Yo if pz does ever come to a close and they have like a final goodbye thing I’m getting boombitezz back on

If it dies where would I go? PZ should just let loose for a month and see if it would rejuvenate PZ. I mean with their staff! Like bring gigo back to owner, and seek for more developers.

We are going to war, the staff are defending the server they are the only ones that play on it now, look;

We are trying for the developers, and we can’t just say “Oh Gigo you need to become owner again”. Like Pqndar said, Gaurav bought the server, so unless it’s bought back by Gigo we can’t do anything about it. I personally love having Gaur as an owner, he’s a great person and he tries his best, nothing against Gigo though. Minecraft itself is losing players, not just PZ.

Pz well eventually die, yes.
I don't think we should say "oh it's going to die may as well do nothing." Instead, we should try and keep it alive.
There's no point in saying "oh I won't start a buisness because it's going to die eventually". Same thing applies here.
Also I'm pretty sure minecraft is still going strong, considering, from what i've heard at least, it's sales are still really good.
Of course that might not apply to PC bc microsoft is focusing on console, but y'know.

But you know millions of people get laid off yearly while working for numerous businesses because they can’t last right, that just tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about. You saying people don’t start businesses for that reason is completely wrong, tons of people don’t start businesses for exactly that reason. That’s why you see in the food industry it’s your same typical fast food or dine in restraints ex. McDonald’s chick Fil a Burger King and so on and barely any self owned businesses or like internet provides or computer manufacturers people are scared to start businesses for exactly that reason

Well nobody, as far as i know, ends a good company for the reason "It's gonna die anyways," when it very well has a chance.

I cant say anything about Guarav or gigo running the server, but I dont think the goal here is to go over why its failing, we know its failing. Due time, the why question wont matter. We know its failing and theres nothing we can do about it, so aside from that, dont you think this Death Date is logical? One last spurt?

Why do you start anything? Why give birth? Why grow a company? So it can die? Well, it will die. The sooner you accept it the easier it will be. No, you start things for the life of them. You grow a company and it makes you money, and eventually it dies, but you arent in it for it to die, you are in it for its life. PZ was started for players to enjoy, and the majority of the players simply dont enjoy it anymore. Its over. PZ is dead, and this is the logical thing to do. "Dread it, run from it. Destiny still arrives". If we dont give it a date, it will come anyway and it wont be by our terms. And it will cost more unnecessary money, and more staff time.

I mean it is possible to have more than one owner. And if Minecraft is dying as a whole, start a place where the PZ community can go to. Maybe it will just be a Discord server! Or something!! I really don’t want PZ to die this fast. Maybe a merger with another server? Maybe just get the attention with youtubers! Remember LDShadowlady???

I don't agree, we all will have to move on eventually and maybe do something other than Minecraft. There's already a discord server which is upto the owner to decide if it will stay after the server is down and there are many discord servers owned by members of staff or pz which you cod join too, we don't need to pressure the staff more for an alternative when the main part is dying. Accept and move on.

I do agree that it's a shame that pz is dying, this is the only server I've enjoyed so far and might be the last server I'll be on because I did learn to move on. I like this idea due to the fact, it's the truth and there's no denial and we should have an end date not only to save money to keep it going but also because minecraft is dying. It's practically no use, we've been saying for ages the next generation will come but it never does. I'd love to see a get together before it closes if it is.

its definitely closing, pointing to the last thing you said. it will absolutely close, this suggestion gives us the opportunity to not only have a say in it, but to enjoy it till its last day.

Yes, the server is dying. We all know that, and there's no point trying to deny it. The same with Minecraft as a whole. Minecraft is almost 10 years old and a lot of the players who joined in 2009-2010, probably don't play anymore. There are two options for Partyzone, and they are both pretty bad.

A) Change Ownership when Guarav leaves.

B) Close down the server.

If the server closed down, how would the forums be funded for? The Discord can stay, since it's free, but you have to pay to keep a website up.

The server is dead already, it's just a waste of money at this point. I don't think I have seen Murder once this week with more than 0 players and I've logged on at least 10 times to check. If it is already failing, why bother transferring the leadership, that won't give it more popularity. The only option is to close down the server. It had a good run, but it is time to end it.
