A girl with long purple hair walked down the hallway, a book in her hand. She opened a door into a dusty old bedroom, with a grandfather clock ticking slowly away...tick...tock....tick...tock. The girl sat down on the dusty bed. She slowly began to open the book titled "The Final Decent". She rested her eyes upon the first page, and read aloud to herself.
"Chapter 1, Girl on water," She said.
Undefinable opened her eyes, her pet cat named Sprinkles, was asleep next to her. Undefinable slowly pulled herself out from under the blankets, trying not to disturb Sprinkles. She climbed out of bed, then slowly tip toed out of her room. Misty, a cat that Undefinable claimed to be a real spirit cat, was looking out at the moon.
"Misty? What are you doing?" Undefinable asked as she rested her arms on the windowsill next to Misty. Misty licked her paw, then looked down at the pound. Undefinable looked down as well. At the edge of the pound, was a girl with long brown hair. She was sliding along the water, like she was a ghost. Undefinable slowly began to smile, nobody that she knew believed in spirits, or life among the living. But Undefinable knew that what she was seeing right before her eyes, was real.
"Nobody believes me, Misty. I can't prove to them that you're real," Undefinable said, looked down at her hands.
"You cannot prove that there is life among the living, but there is someone that believes in just that! You just haven't met her yet," Misty quietly said. "Now," She continued, "You should go back to bed, you don't want to wake up your parents."
"But Misty," Undefinable said, "Who's the girl on the water?" Misty smiled, then said, "Some things are best left, unwritten."
