This also may sound like a bad question to ask, but are we allowed to base maps of GMOD? I mean we have office and clue which are also in GMOD?

Anz who, I am not a fan off (again) the colour set, as it sets me off and something about it makes me dislike it heavily, than there's the build structure. To me, it feels cramped and tight. I feel like it's also heavily rubbing off of other serves somehow, and they're not as original as they could be. Generally. I'm not intending to go slack on the creators but at the same time don't care if I come off rude.
Just a few reasons I don't like them, nothing special.

Alright, I can see that now. I don't dislike them, but your points are valid.

I see what you mean about originality, do you have any good map ideas i could use?

You're aware that these are 'community' maps? The maps were built by community members, not us, so of course the style of building isn't the usual. That's the whole point, to get some variety up in here. The maps are built for the whole server and not specific player's tastes so of course there'll be some who aren't a fan of them, such as yourself. If you want to add your own style, you can submit a map here! :)
 
I really like the new maps, however I'm not necessarily fond of 'Cobblestone'. Mostly because it is a large amount of area. But overall, the detail on these maps are very good!

For building maps, is world edit allowed?
 
well i wouldnt count on it PikaUniverse295 there pretty trustworthy

I often play on cobblestone, however I don't find the other Map. Is it still there?
