I recently got a warning about Necro Posting.
What's the point of it? It's only posting on a thread that hasn't been replied to in 2 weeks.

What's the deal with it?

Possibilities why Necro Posting can be not-intended.
1. The creator of the thread might be updating status of it.

2. Just cause people were looking for an interesting thread.

Why is it necessary? Some people don't have anything to do, and find a thread that hasn't been posted on for two weeks an when they post, 5 minutes later they get a warning from a staff saying, 'You posted on a Necro Post. Blahblahblah." It's frustrating when you're either updating status on a thread, or you're looking for a thread to reply on. And if the recent threads aren't interesting, then what is the wafflin' point of the rule?
It just doesn't make sense! If you're just looking to do something on the forums, then just look at a thread, click it, and bam. But I've posted on Necro forums before, and this is the first time it's ever happened to me.

I think staff are all going to be, "Spoopy_BruhItzWolfy, we will not remove this rule because blahblah." and a warning.

Why is it a thing? Some people don't intend it, and if you don't, then why the heck is it a rule?
Sometimes people want to have fun on the forums.

Often times, staff warnings intimidate players, which I'm starting to get over it.
So if staff send me one wafflin' warning about this thread, I'm ignoring it.

this post literally didnt make any sense lol what

necro posting is in place for people who want to post farm, and bumping a dead thread is not necessary.

I believe that the necro posting rule should still be in place due to the nature that users will continuously farm if this rule is not in place and also users will start bumping their thread over and over again just to get attention. The thing is, if it was removed, it would be insane, many of the forum games and main threads would be spammed with comments that are completely pointless and will be said over and over again by the same person in order to gain more message count and forum points.

By the way... This suggestion is kinda pointless due to the fact that the majority of the forums auto lock threads after 2 weeks (The Necro-Posting limit)

I agree with this, once I ended up BANNED for necroposting when I posted a thread that was like 15 days old cos i thought it was 14 days old smh

besides i've seen staff do it so it must be alright for players to do it

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons this rule has been put in place is to stop the people who are desperate for forum points, and therefore go through every thread someone has made and post on it, regardless of when it was posted.

The necro-posting rule was put in place to a) stop users from reviving threads which have lost their original purpose, have become outdated, or are no longer relevant, and is also to b) stop users from unnecessarily spamming old-threads to get post/messages points. Most threads are auto-locked after they get too old, yes, but that doesn't stop people from commenting on an unlocked one that has no point in being responded to.

It's one of the easiest rules to follow, honestly. Just don't post on old threads, keep to the first few pages of a section of the forums and thrive there, where people are actively discussing new ideas and games, rather than old and irrelevant ones.

Yeh we want to keep the forums fresh guys, so lets not bring up old topics. Simple as :)

Necro posting ia a rule and that won't change. Just because you got warned for it doesn't mean you have to start a petition to get it removed. Everybody gets warned and you just deal with it
