Everyone is told how awesome they are, not to listen to the negative people, always be yourself, etc. They assume that those words won't make people feel depressed. Most of the time, it doesn't help. Hi, my name is Heidi. This is a story on how a few words can change one person's life from living to dead.

I was always the girl who was happy, energetic, playful, and always full of joy. When a friend of mine, or anyone really, was felling down, I'd try to encourage them with quotes, jokes, words of encouragement, or anything I knew could make them smile. I grew up in a Christian home, went to church every Sunday, and would always try to do everything I could to be the best Christian girl I could be. I went to a Christian school where everyone there was extremely caring, kind, and friendly. I thought I had a perfect life. When I was 15, my family had to move. We moved from Vermont to California. Moving meant I had to leave my amazing school. Yes, my friends and I were devastated that I couldn't stay with them. We didn't have the money to go to another Christian school, so I went to a public school 5 minutes away from where I lived.

The school wasn't the best. Bullying happened everywhere I looked. Being depressed was normal there. I would've tried to comfort people, but because this is a public school, I didn't know what to except if I tried. Months after going here, I slowly broke away from God. I started to make friends. We slowly became best friends. We even had our own group which consisted of my best friends, Brody, Ellie, Hannah, Jess, Clay, and Justin. We did everything together. We even became known as the 'Popular Kids.' I started to have feeling for a guy, but I didn't think it was right to have that feeling. He was my best friends. I told Justin I liked him, and he even liked me, too. We dated, he was my first boyfriend and my last. We were known as the most popular couple in the school. He introduced me to someone that I'll never forget. Why? He made me do something that changed my life from living to dead.

His name was Morgan. You'd think he'd be a nice guy. No. We were pretty good friends at first. People told me he was bad, but I didn't see that. I thought he was pretty nice. What went wrong you may ask? It all started in March. We went to take a walk around my house. We were just about done the walk when he told be that he had a surprise for me. He made me close my eyes for 20 minutes. He took me to the park. We played around like 5 year olds. I asked him why he kept staring at me. He told me that he loved me. He tried to kiss me, multiple times. I tried running away, but he kept grabbing me. He didn't kiss me, but he tried, a lot. I told Brody at school the next day. He believed me, and he hasn't spoken to Morgan since.
