i know outcastjack had done a guide. but theres something missingo_O
Hi guys im making a murder guide to help partiers make murder map!;)
lets just start anyways:D

Phase 4: Starting tips

Its better to make a map in private server or singeplayer, so you dont have world limits + worldedit.
Before landscaping a map, try making the landscape bigger, so you dont need to worry about it too small
After its done (and after planning) and when you think its too big, you can fill the extra
un-needed spots with mountains, more un-needed spot, bigger mountain. get it?

Phase 5: List to check

Before building the map, you need to make sure that the map your building....
- Is not too big, and not too small

- Is not too open, fill open places with barriers like : double tall grass, trees, bushes, etc

- Doesn't have too many spot that murder can get shoot easily (e.g 1 block wide tunnels)

- more block colour, other than just 1 block for each floor/wall

- Is not too flat,by adding holes, (1 block height,3 blocks wide) and boulders. Sample
(for indoor) make extra floor, or tunnel with stairs. Sample

- Has details, like furnitures, custom trees, patterns.you can use simple patterns, like zig-zag,checkered, etc.

- Has extra rooms/spots for emeralds.

-Has a hiding spot, but not too many. small maps = more hide spot, bigger = less

-Fits murder theme

-Has many places to explore,if the rooms were seperated, there's more place to explore.

-If the map is a fully outdoor one, try make huge buildings,
so players can get inside and explore. which can also make the map bigger.

-A custom tree, try make your own tree, or change some tree to other wood that matches your map weather (e.g acacia tree, change the log to oak log)
Sample

Worldedit Tips
you dont have a server, then realised there is no voxelsniper for singeplayer :(
you can only use worldedit at this moment, but no worries, worldedit is usefull too!
you may not know that.....
- /mask exist, make your brush can replace only the block you inserted,
example : "/mask air" then if you have sphere brush, it will only replace air.

- //replacenear exist,same as //replace,
but it will replace blocks in a distance you want.

- You can make awesome mountain, using a gravel brush sphere + /mask air,
by stack it, and use //replacenear to replace the gravels to a block that you wanted,
then using sand brush cylinder so you can replace it with a different block.
(you can change to smaller brush size to make mountains look sharper)

- replacing a tree to sand, then replacing to block, will make spikes.
Combinations : Here:cool::rolleyes:;)

-Using /tool tree junglebush, you can replace it to make boulders. Sample

-If you created huge builds, and dont like the color/block, you can replace it with
/mask [block] and use brush to the block you wanted. Sample

more coming soon...!;)
Correct me if some are wrong, and you can suggest too!:D
sorry idk how to make an awesome, colourful and not dizzy looking guide
