Please tell me all the cosmetics aren't going to be stuck behind a painful paywall for no good reason other than broke + we can do it. I noticed the upgrades have a coin system but almost everything else is bought by these party points. Also what happened to your loot crate system lmao. Also also, the guns are trash in new murd and idk about knives cause I haven't been murd.

Loot crate will probably be for hats. Although I do agree at least some cosmetics should be able to be bought with normal coin. To at least make the game feel more achievable than one of those phone app games that is about grinding but buying stuff makes it easier.

The reason for making more use of Party Points, which were always a thing, is more than simply because we can. Servers cost money, development costs money and providing the content for PartyZone costs money.
  1. Our policy is and will continue to be that no content which gives you an unfair advantage over other players will cost real money. PartyZone is not a Pay to Win network and we don't plan on it becoming one.
  2. The donations we receive from Party Points and cosmetic purchases go straight back into making the content that we love. Bug fixes, new minigames and updates require funding. Not everything can be free or else we wouldn't exist.
  3. Goodiebags are currently not in circulation as more works need doing to them before they are ready for release. We have no estimated date on this as our current priority is murder.
  4. We are aware of problems with aiming weapons and are working on a fix. If you find issues, we suggest reporting them via the Bug Reports section rather than making rant threads.
We're sorry if you're not happy with the way things work and we always take suggestions under advisement. Please just remember that we do need to make money to survive as a network.

I understand all of this, but in all honesty I've seen more disappointment if anything from the work that is being put into things. The server does not have that many people in all honesty and none of this is helping. Maybe whoever is running things needs to work more on getting a team of people who are dedicated to making the server better, and not worried about getting the pay back. In all honesty if I knew how to program I'd die to help this server out. It's just sad seeing where it is now.

I'm disappointed to hear you think me and Morphic are not dedicated to making the server better as that is definitely incorrect. The last thing we have been thinking of is our paycheck and I do feel slightly insulted you think that is the case. If you would like to help the server out, you are welcome to assist with finding bugs in the bug reports section and making thought-out suggestions <3

Murder is not going to be perfect on initial release, therefore people will be disappointed. Developers are working as hard as they can to improve it and make it the best it can be.

The network is in a half updated state. PZ v2 isn’t finished yet, therefore we’re not expecting a huge influx in players at this point in time.

I can assure you, from working in the testing team, this is not the case. If you genuinely believe the developers are only ‘worried about getting the pay back’, you definitely haven’t seen the amount of work & effort they put into everything they do.

Networks take thousands of dollars per month to run, even if all of the paid members (like developers) were cut, there are a number of services that need to be paid for the network to run. PZ being such a different network to the rest, it has requires a lot custom development which does mean a lot of time & money.

The developers put hours into the network for us, of which they're adults - they need money to buy things like food - people can't live off of no income. And we can't just give them less work, otherwise the network wouldn't exist.

Donor purchases usually stem in 2 forms, purely cosmetic (no advantages) and gameplay enhancing (advantages). PZ is EULA compliant, meaning all of its perks have to be cosmetic, give everyone the same advantage, or give no competitive enhancement like WorldEdit on a Creative server. PZ needs to make money whilst being EULA compliant, so cosmetics are an amazing avenue for the network to gain money whilst not breaking previously mentioned EULA. It is worth mentioning that it would break the EULA to have PartyPoints earnable through playing, if the currency can be bought it cannot also be earned through playing.

I fully understand outrage if the cosmetics were ridiculously overpriced, however the upset seems to arise because of PZ following the EULA whilst also trying to earn money. Most networks hide gameplay behind paywalls, you can't be the best at the game unless you've paid money for it, PZ only puts cosmetics behind a paywall, which don't affect gameplay. If the network doesn't make money, it'll cease to exist.

How else would you expect PZ to make money to stay running when it takes such a high cost to run, if it didn't make people pay for cosmetic items?

How do you expect to keep players? I get that the server needs money, which woah pretty insane info ngl, although to keep players enjoyed and etc some cosmetics should be available. Such as tier one stuff. Although you could make the arguement most players once they get a cosmetic they won't care if its diamond or leather.

Most players who are going to stay are going to stay because of the gameplay, not because they were able to earn a cosmetic item. I do understand the enjoyment out of grinding to earn cosmetic items, and hopefully we'll figure out a way to implement this without breaking the EULA, but I really don't see this as a huge problem. Most networks hide a lot of gameplay behind a paywall, PZ puts cosmetic items behind a pay wall - which right now I would say is the best way to do it

Gameplay gets repetitive and it sucks when there is nothing to show for how many hours you put in. There's an intimidation factor when you are running around as murd with full diamond armor or a weird hat. There is no intimidation if you only had to pay money for it. It just shows that you paid money. There is absolutely nothing for the late game for your coins either. There's nothing to dump your coins in for the players that want to spend a lot of hours. Along with this, it's kinda a spit in the face that even with ELITE I can't get access to any of these items without putting even more money into the server. Even with that though, it would be nice to have some died leather as a normal coin purchase. Make the swords a coin purchase and then add "whacky" buys like a fish, blaze rod, some shears, maybe a stick, or a carrot on a stick. I do not expect this to be a priority, but jee wiz give us something other than "we need money and cosmetics aren't important." Hope this helps your guys' creative juices.

Basically they do intend to do something of that sort. Patience is needed, updates no matter how you look at it will take a while.

They need to stop telling us we're wrong in thinking so, but also I went through the EULA.
  • ask for donations (as opposed to direct charges) IF you do not offer the individual donor something in exchange that only he or she can use. You may offer server wide rewards if donation goals are achieved though.
Party points are donation only.
  • use in-game currencies IF (i) they are “soft currencies” i.e. a currency earned or expended only through gameplay that has no real world value and that cannot be cashed out, used or transferred across free or paid servers, or converted into “credits”; and (ii) you don’t give the impression that it comes from or is associated with Mojang.
Party points are donation only

Now, should this be a topic in of itself? Where's the extendo EULA that says a hard currency can buy a soft currency only if it has no gameplay advantages. IF means it has to abide by that rule though. You can use an in game currency only if it is earned through gameplay. Party points have a real world value which breaks this EULA. Also, only PP (party point) donors have access to the PP. There is no signs of everyone getting some PP if the server gets enough PP bought is there? And even if there was that means the Admin would have to give some PP for every time a donation goal is filled which has to include ranks at that point. Don't tell me Admin are just lying to us now. Please tell me I've got something wrong here.
